The link to Agion in the article was wrong, so check up on it here. And here's the 'shoe''s'. I'd personally like to see some running shoes with this shit, but whatever.
dude, look at the stats on how much longer food survives using that cooler pot. Then realize that it uses no electricity, and remember how completely fucking poor EVERYONE in Nigeria is. You may not give a fuck (actually no one in America would give a fuck) about it, but to someone in Nigeria, it's a godsend. It's silly, but it reminds me of that guy in Iran who made extreme temperature proof housing, and NASA started looking into it because it might be usable on Mars.
I enjoy playing Pikmin on Mandrake gaming edition! I especially enjoy playing networked Super Monkey Ball on Mandrake gaming edition vs. people in the same room as me.
"Take, for instance, StarCraft. The last time I played with someone actually used a strategy besides simply building a lot of medium units and some large units and then sent them all as soon as possible was.. well, never."
Here's what you do: go to a Korean cybercafe. Chat up one of the girls. Get her to play a game of Starcraft with you. Try your silly 'build a lot of medium units and some large units and send them over as soon as possible' moves, and then proceed to get stomped. The only reason everyone is still playing Starcraft 3 years after it came out is because those goddamned Koreans come up with something new every day. Don't believe me? Go try it. There's tons of strategy there, you need two things: skill and skilled opponents.
I feel the exact same way you did. It's like they couldn't be bothered talking to what people about what they thought, because they knew people wouldn't support it. Goddamn.
To anyone's knowledge, has war been 'officially' declared on the Taleban? Otherwise, legally, the president can only keep military strikes going for 60 days, right? Combined with the lack of a UN resolution authorizing the use of force, this attack on Afghanistan isn't very legal, is it?
What were the management and group/responsibility structure changes that were implemented to make this project succeed in such a wildly unpredictable way.
A friend pointed me at this. Very basically: they're looking at the use of nukes. Dear God I hope you people are talking to your congressmen and senators.
How many actions has the EFF won? How many have they lost? They're the most ineffectual political group I've ever seen. We need a new one. We need a new one now.
Visual Studio (6 or.NET) includes CLI tools. You use them when you want to automate builds or not use the IDE just to check on something.
And anyway, it's nice of you to try checking facts before you offer a retort to this guy, but come on, it's just a flame war. Next someone will be asking who writes better software, people who use Emacs or people who use VI? (the answer is neither, it's the people who use Pico, duh)
I have an idea for a fantastic slashcode mod. Just bear with me for a second: Anytime someone links to adequacy.org, automatically delete their account. What do you think?
Doesn't Brazil have a high AIDS rate because the men are too macho to use condoms and the women won't insist on it? I think if they can change that, they have a shot at containing the problem which would make AIDS drugs that much more effective... Otherwise it's like trying to use water to put out a fire while someone else is pouring gasoline on it or something.

Only common scripting language?! Sir, hit msdn.microsoft.com/scripting to find out more about WSH.
Or hit activestate.com, I think they have Perl for Windows that you can use.
I'm not worried about drivers because I'm running the same hardware that I was running in the summer of '98. With the exception of more RAM and RAM to replace the RAM that went bad.
If at any point you need to shut me up, feel free to point out BeOS and Palm's intention to not develop the desktop OS (befaqs.com negotiations notwithstanding). If the OS had been opensourced, we wouldn't be in our current predicament. Look at OpenTracker, the improvements are amazing, especially in the NewFS branch.

I could be wrong but I think Amazon.com provides the wishlist service you're thinking of.
here.
It'll be off the front page tomorrow, so all these mirrors shouldn't be needed...
that Carnage4Life, the slashdotter's slashdotter, couldn't anticipate and survive a slashdotting?

"scare people"
Duh, they're terrorists, they WANT to scare people. They're happier than pigs in mud to find that the media's doing their job for them.

I thought you weren't allowed to mod and post at the same time? Or was that the old /.?
I see, thanks

QNX was written in c and fit on a floppy with gui, browser, tcp/ip stack, sound, etc. It's on a CD now so it must have grown.

appreciate it :)
do you think it'll be before a partition can be installed painlessly side by side Windows? Should be the quickest way to gain mass adoption, right?

Is that accurate? Thanks in advance...
No mention of Game Programming Gems 2 which was supposed to debut at the show...
