    Minor nitpick: we're not dumb enough to go to war over something as stupid as IP. We'll first invent some flimsy excuse and then demonize the other country's leaders, THEN we'll go to war.

    What do you want to fight over? George Bush Sr.'s oil well's in Kuwait just got taken over or the evil Saddam Hussein is invading poor tiny Kuwait? Noriega isn't following CIA orders like a good puppet dictator or American sailors were brutally murdered by evil Panamanian forces?

    We'll believe whatever the TV tells us, as long as they're telling us that the other side is TRULY evil.

    You left out the fact that Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are violently undemocratic, to the chagrin of alot of young people, who, rightly or wrongly, are quick to take up arms against any perceived threat. With all the military assistance we give both countries, we can help but be a big fat target.

    As a former Soviet republic, doesn't the Ukraine have any nuclear weapons that they can use to argue away sanctions? And what's so important about CD piracy? We don't have trade sanctions on Taiwan or China or Russia, do we?

    Maybe something like grab a serial cable, hook up one end to the comp and the other end to a set of LEDs and then write a device driver that lights up the LEDs based on whether the webserver is server or the mail server is getting mail or something. Maybe collaborate with an EE at your school or something.

    In any case, I would think it'd be easier the other way, that Linux has more drivers than BSD. Maybe he should try your suggestion in the opposite direction?

    It's got strategy, it's text bases, web based, there's alot of in your head number crunching, the community's a decent size, and the team I play with on the team server are all r/l friends. Try it =)

    Hm, that's got me thinking... Web based games should publish their interfaces as xml files, that would make special handheld wireless clients really easy to use...

    You can, but you shouldn't. Just about every function call in Win16 has been superceded by something in Win32. Win32s doesn't count because it was kind of incomplete.

    Just dig through MSDN, it'll always tell you what something does, what platform it does it on, and whether it's been made obsolete or not.

    Part of the issue is also that IE is used as the default viewer for things like email. So if you could please list open source email clients for windows, we'd appreciate it.

    I'm glad ya'll are enjoying it. Google no longer shows any of the Usenet postings I've made (except for one), which is funny because I posted all of them using Google. It's strange, but I'll get over it. I just wish I knew why I wasn't important enough to archive ^^;;

    Maybe you didn't notice the recent legislation but a warrant is no longer needed to enter your home and tap your computer. Actually that strengthens your argument, there's no need for this to be a trojan.

    I dunno if any of you have been watching Earth: Final Conflict, but this last season of its has been sucking tremendous ass.

    At the very least we have Stargate SG-1 to entertain us? The entire show is only about continuity!

    On the other hand, remember that whole Tabasco fiasco with Roswell? I don't watch Roswell, but there was some massive campaign to keep the show from being cancelled, maybe something like that can be done to prevent this loss of what makes Andromeda cool?
