if you take a look at a diagram of the probe, you will notice that all of the sensors and cameras are located at the "bottom" (the part of the spacecarft that is closest to ground). weren't they damaged during the landing?
if the probe is laying on it's side or on an angle, isn't it going to be difficult for it to blast off without it flopping around the surface?
i know that Eros' mass is very, very large compared to the mass of NEAR. could the landing have affected the orbit Eros in a miniscule way that in a million year or so years, Eros smashes into earth?

linux on laptops is a site that has links to linux installation instructions for any type of laptop imaginable. i've used this resource several times and find it very useful.
network administrators would become rock star-like in status and salary because of the highly demanded skills to keep net traffic flowing. i wonder if they would get all of the chicks too? probably not because they would be locked in the network / server room. i guess they wouldn't get to spend any of their money either.
nasa should buy mir from russia and push it towards mars. nasa's mission would be to use it as an orbiting platform in which to base future manned missions to the surface of mars, but we all know how nasa's mars missions have been going. mir, after some unexplained technical difficulties, disappears from the radar map as it enters orbit. in reality, it crashes to the planet's surface. we now know that organic matter from outer space can survive on a meteorite after it impacts to earth. a little big of the fungus on mir survives the crash and multiplies. so by the time we actually send people to mars (3000ad), mars will be full of plant life and breathable air!
for my nostalgic star blazers brothers out there, i remember the following scenes from the show as if they happened yesterday...
1) earth defense force getting their asses kicked, then wild star's brother's torpedo ship taking on about 100 enemy ships so that the captain can get away.
2) tralayna and her sister, then nova...
3) wild star finding his brother's gun and ship on titan.
4) the ship that the scientist guy blows up with his explosive-filled limbs. then wildstar finds his limbless body in wreckage. (why couldn't data on STTNG do anything like that.)
5) argo vs. the three battle cruisers and gets it's ass kicked because it can't use the wave motion gun.
6) whoops! i forgot before the first warp jump, when one of the badly damaged fighters almost didn't make. oh yeah, and then wildstar not having anybody on earth to call because they were all dead...
7) argo kicking the crap out of deselok's home world. (deselok always had two or three human women with him...)
8) wildstar being reunited with his brother.
9) nova almost dying on the return journey. the death of the captain...
10) all those times, when the captain had "spring water" with the ships crew...
Since the general consensus is that LinuxOne is a stain upon the reputation of the linux community, perhaps there should be a real movement to block LinuxOne from making money from their IPO.
Although I abhor receiving chain mails (from my less techincally saavy friends) about "how I can make money from microsoft, aol, etc. by forwarding this email to as many friends as possible...", in this case I would not be against using such a tactic. Especially since, we are are trying to get our message out to the less technically saavy investor...
The email should be well worded and begin with: WARNING: DO NOT INVEST IN LINUXONE IPO.
The email include a very descriptive explanation of the LinuxOne situation. And at least five bulleted reasons why a person should not invest in LinuxOne.
The email should also include all links to articles that have been written about LinuxOne to support our claims.
Although I have been reading about this subject since it first appeared at slashdot, I don't think that I have enough knowledge of the linuxone situation, the linux community, or the linux operating system to compile this email by myself.

on second thought, i guess there aren't that many computer applications that ask you to enter in 'y' or 'n' as opposed to 'ok' and 'cancel'.
maybe this keyboard should have programmable keys...
