    The ability to remote control a car is a major worry. Some possible problems: No driver suicide car bombs, abduction by remote control, changing the route a car uses so it puts someone the government doesn't like at the scene of a crime, if you cancel a persons authorization to use an autonomous car (assuming this replaces mass transit) you basically imprison them.

  2. We shold drag out the ISSIS fight as long as possible, to kill as many of the muslim extremists (terrorists) as possible instead of having them scatter and stir up trouble in other places. Of course this only works if we don't care about the safety and welfare of the people who live there, but the evidence suggests we don't.

    I recomend the government makes a list of all the porn sites worldwide (rated by quality), and make a browser plugin that blocks those sites (based on age). The parents can download the blocker onto their kids computers in those countries that care about this. This will achieve two major (and very worth while) porn goals at the same time, with the first being to effectively block most porn from the computers of kids who's parents actually care.

    A gasoline engine is 25% efficient, an electric engine runs at 90%, and doesn't need to idle.

    No, they don't use electrolysis. They make it from natural gas, giving your "clean" energy source the same carbon footprint as an electric car. Also hydrogen is expensive to store and transport.

    The money you spend on a Mars orbit mission comes out of your landing on Mars budget, that's why you don't do this.

    I think government (in partnership with industry) should set up a fake city for testing drones and autonomous vehicles/cars. They get a safe testing site, we don't get run over or have a drone slam into our bedroom at 50 mph.

    The ships used for a mars colony should be re-used. Construct ship (at station), fill ship, send to mars, unload (at station), return to earth.

    A decentralized system is harder for a single group to control. It's better to have a list of CA's you trust than to be forced to use a single one (that you don't). A centralized system means the NSA controls trust.

    In California you could probably sell the power for more than the water, though if they de-regulate the water and make the farmers pay fair market value that might change.

    Requiring farmers to pay fair market value for water will eliminate the water shortage. It might also eliminate most of California's farming, but that's a small part of the states income so it won't be missed. Politically the easier solution is to allow the cities to buy up the farms and take their water rights.

    What you can add to a house is limited by the wire running to your house. A 220VAC 100 A circuit could be run, if needed.
