have you ever tried installing Windows from a CD that wasn't OEM? Yep, almost every other month when I was using XP. Easy as hell, dunno what you're talking about.

one you never have to check for system requirements. Yes, this is really hard and takes A TON of time, at LEAST 2 seconds.

As to the demise, I mean lots of people (me included) are still playing vintage game consoles. Heck I got an Atari Paddle Set that works of AA batteries that I still play. But perhaps that says more about the timelessness of Breakout and Pong than consoles...

You are exactly right. If people are still playing the classic consoles like Atari and NES (in my group of friends these are preferred to ps3's etc, but we all are PC gamers) IMHO, it means the current consoles/console games are stagnating.

I disagree. Generally, to use a motorized limb it takes training. The electrode doesn't just read "he wants to take a drink", that's just not possible yet. What is really happening is that the electrode is sensitive to certain frequencies; for example more activity in the xHz-yHz lvl makes the hand open and less activity in the xHhz-yHz lvl makes the hand close. You don't just think about doing it, it requires training to figure out how to move it. I'm reminded of a show I saw about it where a guy described thinking about tense thoughts, like crushing a can or kicking something as opposed to thinking about laying on a bed or floating on a raft to change his "frequencies" to use a function of his limb. Adding more inputs I think would make it even harder until we can figure out how to read thoughts.

Completely agree. I read a story a few years back about a guy who was a nanny about 10-15 miles away from his house. These people did not have an internet connection (and this is pre-wi-fi) but he had a laptop and a was a ham radio operator. Somehow he just sent his phone connection through his transmitter and was able to get a connection 15 miles away.

There's no way for anyone to control the internet anymore, probably since 1980 or so. I think the idea of the internet being "controlled" or "disappearing as we know it" is like being afraid the government wont let you talk to your friends anymore, it's completely unenforceable and ridiculous.
