Belize managed to get rid of him. Shortly after, ads touting the benefits of buying real estate in Belize started airing on TV here in the USA. Didn't see his house in the ad though.
Sony actually introduced a portable Betamax deck to be used in conjunction with that PCM adapter. If the masters were on Betamax, I'd be a bit more concerned than if it was on a far more common VHS tape.
I've seen federal contractors job postings for some positions that say, "Security Clearance Required, no experience necessary" with a giant starting salary because they really don't want to pay for clearances.
Compilation albums of EDM can go two ways, mixed and unmixed tracks. If the tracks are continuously mixed by a DJ for MoS (very common), there could be a claim that they have some rights to that compilation. If its just a series of unmixed tracks (the original songs just thrown into a playlist) than there shouldn't be an issue.
I recall teachers in school occasionally getting new textbooks to evaluate, some of which had publication dates in the future (I guess they were pre-release copies). Only a select few would give the books to students to evaluate or teach a lesson or two out of them during their evaluation. Otherwise I think selection was done solely by teacher opinion.
I have a copy of MATLAB somewhere. I used it in Calculus class for a grand total of one assignment. It appeared to be a "check mark" requirement of some sort like "hey we used technology in this course". It was also surprising though, since the Math department at this University hated calculators.
They have been building up an impressive amount of awards to match.

Snow Leopard is slowly becoming the XP of Macs. You aren't alone. Too bad Apple still artificially limits what OSes run on their machines despite being standard x86 hardware underneath.
The SIM authenticates the CDMA side of things too. Switching LTE phones on Verizon now just requires switching SIM cards between phones, no more calling your changing the ESN/MEID on their website. With the explosion of numerous LTE bands on top of the existing legacy voice bands, its going to be difficult to make a true "world phone" these days. Even unlocked GSM/LTE handsets are coming in multiple SKUs to accommodate the various LTE bands.
FirstEnergy is the same group of folks who run JCP&L here in New Jersey. You can ask their customers how competent they were after TS Irene, the freak October 2011 snow storm and Sandy.
I've always wondered if.NET was an improvement over Win32 or not. It seems to suffer from the same problems as Java (need specific versions for different apps since newer ones break it). The biggest break in compatibility in Windows 8 is that Desktop Window Manager is permanently enabled and can not be turned off on a per app basis anymore. This breaks many older apps (mostly video, content creation, and the occasional game) in odd ways. The saddest thing is the one nice thing about having DWM enabled, Aero Glass, was removed from Windows 8!
Will it be available to folks who don't have/use a Microsoft Account like every past service pack? Chances are its being deployed in the "Windows Store" and not Windows Update like it should be.
It was miles better than Program Manager and File Manager. The start menu and the rest of the Windows 95 interface was the last time Microsoft spent big bucks doing user interface and human-computer interaction studies and research. The Chicago/Win95 betas were by far the most interesting to look at since major changes to the UI would occur each release as MS would try out new things... and remove stuff that didn't work out so well.
3rd Party shells used to be all the rage with OEMs until Microsoft changed the licensing terms (with Windows 98) to ban the practice. Thats why things like Packard Bell Navigator and such vanished from new machines. Lenovo likely gets away with bundling the start menu program because its not a replacement shell, but an enhancement.
When I lived in the DC area, the first thing that struck me was how many people asked me if I had a clearance. It was all about having a clearance and working on government projects there. It was kind of sickening to me to realize that -- all these people trying to suck at the government teat. And my impression was that no one was interested in working hard, doing a good job or doing anything interesting at all. It was about having government work and making large amounts of money. (Lack of enthusiasm is one of many key problems with government wouldn't you agree?)
Because that is where the money is. There are tons of government contractors (that produce no tangible goods for ANY OTHER CLIENT) looking for people who have a secret/top secret clearance..... no experience necessary in the position and are offering big bucks for it. They don't want to pay for the actual background check or take the chance that you won't get clearance. You and I are paying for this racket too. How do you think Snowden, with the background he had, landed up with that well paying job?
If you are really only making $33k/yr doing the above and live in an area with high cost of living, I would be very surprised. Most large companies would pay more for that experience. You may be running into the "no college degree" ceiling, although I have a friend who basically babysits a few people and a BBM server and somehow made $65k a year without one. He did eventually get a degree with help from his company's tuition reimbursement program. Sounds like you need to make a convincing argument to your superiors for a raise.

Was Freehand ever ported to Intel on OS X? In a weird way the Windows version may live on a bit longer.

I guess someone saw an opportunity for a slammin' LAN party.
To clarify, if its just a list of songs, it shouldn't be a copyright problem, as in MoS has no copyright claim.

I can see why it was buried. You wouldn't want students finding out about a textbook that is only $17! There is no profit in that.
That is if he actually trusts his Audi's speedometer is giving him a correct reading. Them Type 44s had their fair share of flaky gauge clusters.

The LTE/CDMA phones used by Verizon,Sprint and MVNOs using their networks utilize SIMs for authentication.

Usually its the installer package they utilized (IntellShield, etc) that for some reason was still using a 16bit stub loader.

Many banks use Chex Systems for account verification as well. People wonder why users of these services don't want to use their real name.
Yes. Normally your employer pays half, and you pay the other half. http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/240/~/social-security-and-medicare-tax-rates%3B-maximum-taxable-earnings
