Make that four, while I didn't hate SG-1 and SGA because I do try to find something good in all Sci-fi. I wasn't overly impressed with their general cheesiness. I could stomach the occassional SG-1/SGA ep but sitting through an entire season was... a little too much like saturday morning cartoons for my tastes. SGU grabbed me (just as BSG reimagined did) not only because of their more realistic character interactions, for example not all of the crew on either show got/gets along like an afternoon tea party at Aunt Betty's. Both shows' settings were dark yes and not a lot of pick me ups along the way, but honestly (BSG example) how much humor is to be expected when if you pay attn to the opening credits, thousands were dying off at a time? I appreciate the (sci-fi) realistic approach that both these series took at exploring the human condition in scenarios that we aren't really prepared to handle. Also Rush with the dinosaur assasination FTW! (there's your humor:-) )
The thing was, that wasn't a reboot. It was a sequel that just wasn't named as a sequel. As distasteful and disgusting as it may be to recall. The Eric Bana Hulk ended with him hiding out in Brazil and the Edward Norton Hulk began with him still in Brazil. Sure the story elements on exactly how he ended up in Brazil were changed but I still see it as a sequel.
I agree with you, its one thing that always bothered me about Spiderman the comic and cartoon stories. It just didn't make much sense to me that he would gain these major abilities of spiders from the bite but not their ability to shoot webs. Excluding the fact that Peter developing the webshooters is just background for establishing his reputation as a gifted scientist, I was really thankful for the natural webshooters, though now that I think about it given the location that spiders actually release webbing from wouldn't Peter expel it from his a-?.... *turns green*
I could ask for Purevideo support (nvidia graphics card hd playback codec) given that it has been added to the opensource mediaplayer classic for quite a while now. Once they have that I'll gladly call vlc the very best.
And you just trolled no less than 5 veteran slashdotters, congrats. Though I suppose you are more of a vet than they are going by your uid.
