I only make these suggestions on legal use, as longer distances require both ends to have a high gain antenna. But in the case that everyone is talking about, you should get a connection from a couple thousand feet easy using a high gain antenna on just your side.
note that for legal reasons, you may need to reduce the power output on higher gain antennas to keep the system legal, otherwise you might get a knock on your door from a FCC guy.
1. Thou Shall Worship the Apple, Only the Apple, and Nothing but the Apple. 2. Thou Shall Only use the App Store, and reject any alternatives like unlocking. 3. Thou Shall Reject any alternatives, including, but not limited to Microsoft. 4. Thou Shall Bow in Ignorance, and Believe that Apple is always ahead in the game. 5. Thou Shall Down Mod this any any posts that violate any of the above Commandments.
Generally there is some form of document, either in a seperate booklet or in the manual, which you automatically agree to when you buy it. Usually includes allot of legal stuff.
Half the games Ive bought within the past year aren't so clear with their "training" phase that most games have. I prefer to have a manual within arms reach so i can quickly look up a hotkey when i first start playing, in-case that game isn't clear.
For example(last night): in Battlefield Bad company 2, didn't realize, or see it at first since it was on the screen for a short time, that the MidM in small text was referring to middle mouse button.
I know that there are allot of VPSs out there under $10 a month. there not screaming fast, but the company i get my vps through, allot of people buy a vps just for a vpn into the country. With it they can access allot of US only stuff like hulu.
IF the original EULA said something along the lines of "We may change or update this EULA at any time." then the only thing i can say(within legal bounds) is to accept the new EULA or return the hardware and ask for a refund, but i'm sure allot of people won't do either. In which case, chances you won't have access to online content, which is fine if you never did access online content and just played singleplayer stuff.
If you do play online, the only thing i can say is protest, or suck it up and accept it. Alternatively, you could wait for a hacked firmware.
Why not? Most banks offer free online banking so you can see every transaction, possibly minutes after the transaction occurs. I'm not going to go into the "but the internet is insecure" or "i might have a virus" because this is Slashdot, i assume the common geeks and nerds know how to keep their rig secure from password stealers.
I know my dad checks our account at least twice a day(i share a joint account with my dad), and when i look at it, i spend maybe a minute to login and look at it.
Saying "I'm not in the habit of checking my bank balance daily" is the worst thing you can say in this day and age. 30 years ago it would of been fine, hell 10 years ago it would of been fine. You brush your teeth every morning and night, why not check your account at the same time.
clearly if you knew what today is and what it is like for a lonely level 80 hunter to spend months on end doing nothing but grinding, then you would know this is more important than any game.
i might feel stupid, but what runs on Solaris that won't run on any other posix based OS. When i look around at software, eveything with a Solaris build/source also usually has a windows/linux/bsd/etc build/source
What are you talking about. Flash, silverlight and java have there place. The issue is when people abuse the technology and overuse it or use it where its not needed. There great for complex things like games and complicated applications, but simple things like menus and page content is were i draw the line. There is no reason to make half your site flash based.
wait, no, yes, uhh 3.1 = ok(don't have to much experience with it so can't say for sure), 95 = issues, 98 = ok, me fail, xp = ok, vista = Über fail, 7 = ok so based on that, windows 8 will suck more than Über fail. is that possible? it will be if windows 8 uses a "rent more complicated parts of the OS as you need them" licence, which i have seen people pass the idea around.
Honestly though, unlike vista, windows 7 runs fine, all you need is a couple gigs of ram, which allot motherboards in the past 8 years support. I don't expect you to play crysis on a machine with 1.0 ghz processor, but 7 should run on it.
On a side note, 8 of these in a machine, if i can do quick math in my head, should produce between 2-3 theoretical teraflops of power.
That reminds me. Some people just have a fixation on a color. My mom is gonna paint her red car... wait for it... you guessed it... red...
Not like her car needs a paint job. And shes not getting the same red color, apparently the red she wants is 2 more notches red than the current red. I didn't realize there was more than 1 kind of red, but hay, I'm a guy.
Also i still find it hard to believe someone can identify someone one else if there Anonymous. Its like trying to take a sample of piss out of the sewer, then match it up to someone who you may not even have a sample from. Yes it will identify people who aren't trying hard to hide themselves, or stupid people, but it won't identify someone who is trying to hide themselves.

Then you have a right to say no to anything Sony trys to push on you.

They were to busy eating their big-mac and they wanted to spend their points.

so uuh? instead of 0x0001f57d 0x0001f57dx0005f566x0054faaa
thats only equivalent to ~375 megabytes
it doesn't. This is most likely another project thats piggybacked onto the census, as you take out 2 birds with 1 stone as the phrase goes.
or this is a failure of an April fools joke

http://www.colourlovers.com/color/A00000/ http://www.colourlovers.com/color/C00000/ i see like no difference :/ Its still red, and i doubt out on the street, you would see a difference

reminds me of the bash quote:

<Rex> He's a guy, he only sees like 10 colours or something, don't do this to him.
Honestly though, it takes you what? a minute to change the style if you don't like it? I understand its Ubuntu, but skin change? Slow news day much?
Your on Slashdot.

nothings gonna stop some crazy serial killer, but a PO box will still stop some idiot from knocking on your door because they can.
that is what PO boxes are for, unless i misunderstood something. They can still call you, but they can't drive to you.
I have a domain thats been up for 4 and a half years, mild traffic, and i have yet to have someone call me or knock on my door.
I have gotten spam mail about switching to another domain register and paying $60 a year for basic services, like DNS.
Any game can be opensource, with official servers having p2p or microtransaction.
dude, its shiny and metallically, its precious. End of story.
