Yes, much of Canada is extremely far north. That's why we all live in the south. The vast majority of Canadians live at a lower latitude than London, so SAD is no more of an issue. Probably less, because it's not constantly raining (outside of Vancouver).
From where I stand (in Canada, as a non-religious person), there is a *huge* difference homophobic, judgemental, science-rejecting warmongers and mainstream Christians. I have never met the type of people who picket abortion clinics and tell people they're going to hell. Every Christian I've ever asked thinks creationism is outrageous. The fundamentalism in some American Christians (no doubt exaggerated by the media for ratings) is very much an anomaly.

The LG gives me 2-3 days of battery life and the predictive text seems fine to me. It's not a beautiful or powerful phone, but that's exactly the point. It does what I need it to do - make calls and send texts, and little else.
