    Also, "smuggling" is framing the question in a rather criminal manner.

    Unless there's a way to blow up the aircraft with said papers their content shouldn't matter.

    Now if you were packing C4 and detonators you should probably be checked out. But plain old information? Without acting on it, information is basically harmless.

    We aren't in our right minds at all if we're concerned at all about a comic book. He wasn't begging for it, we (the collective we) were begging for it to be done to him.

    Well, apparently, Apple is just "bad" and "evil". Otherwise we should have seen Microsoft mentioned in the blurb as well as other cell phone makers that don't allow people to run whatever the hell they want to.

    Soon we'll be replacing Redmond with Cupertino in all the old Mordor jokes.

    The Balkanization of commerce isn't a good thing.

    Amazon pays its taxes. Get Amazon to head quarter in your community and then you'll get its tax money.

    The overhead of tracking tax codes down to the city level (and keeping up to date) would be overwhelming. The only winning move in this case really is not to play and that's what Amazon did.

    That sounds like a great reason to get funds to build a non-existent facility to train the non-existent farmers.

    Considering how green the non-existent power plant is there should be a lot of politicians just chomping at the bit to be the ones to say they funded the training.

    You might want to do a bit of brushing up on your history.

    What we societally consider children includes a large age range which are biologically mature. A biological imperative isn't an excuse but it also means by your statement the entire species is invariably broken.

    He said "the iPhone has this feature".

    He didn't say "the iPhone innovated this feature".

    The British de Havilland Mosquito was also very hard to detect with radar due to its wooden construction. It served in fighter (day and night) and fighter-bomber roles amongst others so they did see action against the P-51's contemporaries.

    802.11 is trivially easy to jam. Your household microwave can do it.

    Spread Spectrum is hard to intercept since you can't just sit on one frequency and receive a complete message. It is resistant to singe frequency jamming.

    However, if you're willing to jam the range of frequencies the spectrum covers it's just as vulnerable as a single channel transmission.

    I wonder just how much more intrusive the "secret" plans that will take the public plans will be.

    Politicians are politicians, parties don't matter when power is on the line. A politician won't give up power unless it is to get ever more power. This publicity stunt just gets them good press for awhile until the other shoe drops which will conveniently happen just after the re-election.

    Also, boo-freaking-hoo about your precious real estate value. Turning everything into nothing but profit seeking short term investments is one of the reasons real estate became too overvalued.

    Xenophobia was a survival trait. It's part of being human. So is being able to use reason to overcome it when it is not appropriate.

    It's sickening to here all the newcasters or commentators saying "how could anyone do this?" or "how could a parent ever do this to their child?". They know how someone could do it. We all know. Some people just don't want to admit that somewhere in the dark recesses of their mind are hidden away all those thoughts. The fact that they never act on those thoughts never occurs to them. They are just taught to be ashamed for the mere existence of those thoughts, free will be damned.

    Political Correctness will be the doom of us all while we sit around going "la la la I'm not thinking what I just thought" with our ears plugged and eyes closed.

    I would say "can't stop the signal" would be more applicable to this case.

    An American civilian is providing a means of communication that a government wants suppressed.

    He wasn't telling anyone how to do anything, he was helping a country's citizens get around that government's restrictions.

    It'd be interesting to see their reaction to Turkish coffee preparation where a little inattention can lead to an explosion of was-almost-boiling-but-now-is coffee and retains-its-heat-very-well superfine coffee grounds sludge.

    180-185F is the proper temperature for steeping many teas.

    You brew coffee at 195-205F. 140 would get you tepid colored water unless you increased the extraction time to something totally unreasonable for commercial production and even then it wouldn't taste quite right since both time and temperature determine what you extract from the grounds.

    It would have been even better if they pitched the idea under the pretense of going green by reducing the amount of paper used.

    "You want us to get a warrant? Do you know what the carbon footprint of a warrant is? Why do you hate the Earth?"
