I can't tell you how many times I've seen people leaning to the left or right playing driving games, or tipping the controller down towards the floor when they want to duck (to get lower, presumably)... I thought it was sheer folly, but maybe that's the wave of the future!

If software manufactures catch on to this idea, they'll spend less time on the phone with users who can't get the software to run on their OS, and more importantly, new games will be written as linux native programs, meaning that linux users can install them natively on linux boxes, and Windows users can just boot off the CD to play. Voila! No need for a Windows port to a game! (No need for Windows at all!:) Of course, it'll take some time to get the CD's OS to autodetect a variety of devices and set itself up on the fly, but besides that, it sounds like a great idea!
My favorite part of these masturbatory Microsoft pages is the pictures of doped-up kids that accompany the main logo as if to say, "Go on. Take your SOMA, everybody does it!"

Isn't that the definition of investment-driven capitalism?
1. What does this have to do with expiring Windows NT 4.0 certs and forcing the "upgrade" path?
2. Where did this guy get this URL? He sounds like he'd be more comfortable reading Jesse Berst's Wanker Desk!

For an interesting take on Media Concentration, read Ben Bagdikian's "The Media Monopoly," or just about anything by Marshall McLuhan. As for who-owns-what, take a look at http://www.cjr.org , they have lists of which companies own which media outlets, etc.
