    Actually you're correct, it restarted on my Mandriva install :)

    Bus since I'm working in some designs I had to reboot to Windows. The forced shutdown it's more related to the patch you download, windows update does not force shutdown AFAIK.

    You're right my forced reboot was on XP SP3 and IE8 via downloaded patch. I installed earlier in w2k SP4 IE6 via win update and it didn't forced shutdown so it's maybe .. random(tm), still, If you unchecked the box IT SHOULD NOT RESTART! thanks good I'm a beaten wife that know this kind of things happens, didn't lose anything unsaved.

    hey Adobe, would you ever port your software to Linux?? : ( Not holding my breath.

    They don't need to own every corporation in the world, just make sure Linux (OSS) screw up big time someday and DROP a shitload of money into shills and PR so creating a big issue for something that is not so relevant or FUD all the way... lets see, what do you think of this headlines in the mass media for over a week/month:

    "Microsoft discovers terrorist cell using Linux apps to forgue ID theft of children"

    "McAfee says pedophile networs are the #1 *customers* of Linux and open source software"

    You can still develop you open software but PHBs and regular sheep just frown to you for using Firefox. You can get fired for proposing open source. Think about it.

    In a corporate world you can kill anything just manipulation the media.

    Inded, I don't know why it does not work in latest opera, Chrome is fine and I welcome this improvement and alternatives for Flash, just this way Adobe can make a better plug in.

    Remember, politics and technicalities does not matter for the clients. And for the developer the key is the time spent creating the site. Flash wins hands down there.

    Code driven design will never be mainstream.     I'm not a graphic designer and I know a lot of them and they laugh by the mere mention of reinventing the wheel. Nuf said, This is really cool and I'm going to include a demo for this in the "lab" section of my site, my rant it's more about the drama some people put in such things like flash. Remember: every time you bash Flash the Silverlight team in Redmond wins a bonus ; )

    How is Google invasive? Does it make the keyboard grow a hand and grab your balls until you set up your homepage on google.com? You trust more a random stranger that a big corp that can get some sever financial risk for messing with your privacy? Did you receive candy from strangers when you were kid? I keep hearing about the privacy issues and all the crap, but AFAIK, I haven't seen the first blog post (the most paranoid source of information) about anything close to privacy invasion.

    If you don't want to get your porn usage pattern sent to your boss then use Yahoo or Bing.

    You know, thank God I'm no programmer, If I were one I would make a very annoying worm, a very graphical one so clueless IE user would GET IT, like an animation of a worm coming out from the IE explorer icon "--IS THAT TIME OF THE DAY BIATH!!! you keep using the internetz as your default internet browser, this is the time of that day when you pay for the suffering souls of million of web developers" then the worm make a random antic, I have a preliminary list:

    - the worm eating your latest edited word or excel document.
    - torturing a kitten with pliers,
    - peeing in on an image of Mother Theresa
    - shooting darts to the pope (not this one, the tender one)
    - loading a random youtube video fs that starts with lol, emo, or 1337 and cranking the volume up to 11
    - Rickrolls
    - Zippo cat its fine too
    - Random lecture about the DMCA
    - Setting up a Quake3 server and output the sound to speakers
    - Lois Griffin voice, reading HTML for dummies 1st ed.
    - Random noise metal music
    - Changing background to a random /gif/ image
    - Change wallpaper to "I <3 watching gay porn"
    - Forcin user to read random /. dupe
    - Forcing the user to comment on Digg until they get 100 ups mentioning Bush and good in the same phrase
    - "Ima let you finish" at every doc save and mail send

    all in beautiful randomness, AND IT WILL BE OPEN SOURCE!!1 so anyone can contribute routines, I'd outsource the wiki to 4chan, for the lulz.

    I've been saying it for years, we should scrape HTML and evolve PDf to something like "XPDF" (XPDF=HTML+SVG+JS+VIDEO -- PDf actually support those), an OPEN markup language that renders PDF-like with the help of an OPEN plug-in, just one language, just one renderer.

    I don't know its feasibility but it would SAVE many many millions of work hours for web developers and would make easy for anybody to make a website, thats the meaning for open information, anyone can do it, right?

    I bet you never ever have being starving, people riot because they know help it's being send but they are not receiving shit, theres no water, theres no food it's been 4 fucking days wouldn't you be pissed off: when some guy that can't understand you comes take a look talk something on the radio and left? They did know there were no roads why do they didn't bring a lot of helicopters, it's not that Port au Prince it a big place, no, help it's being firstly used in foreign people affected not Haiti people. I know Haiti people here that have talked with their relatives, that is what the people starving there are seeing.

      They are pissed of because every nation doing rescue and medical labor are focusing in their nationals, most of the rescue teams are in the UN hotel trying to rescue, you bet, UN workers. Even here in Colombia, the first flights to return from there returned with a handful of people, mostly wealthy people, then in the news we saw commons workers from here, wounded and starving in the airport asking why the fucking C130 didn't bring them back to our country. That, my friend it's a reality check.

    Sorry but it does not work quite like that or is not the only factor,the earthquake, sadly, "solved" some of that overpopulation problem. It does not mater your population when you're given the opportunity to rule yourself and use your natural resources to create employment, the number one income source for Haiti as a whole it's emigrants sending money from around the world, thats the case of A LOT developing countries.

      China have lots of people and the interior people maybe rural and impoverished but they are not utterly broke like Haiti, why? theres no big mega corps treating farmers like slaves (China itself do that) or stealing their natural resources. Theres a difference when the profits of your slave work are going outside your country and when the profits of your slave work stays in your country. Hey but I live in a developing nation what do I know.

    Not needed, you want to find something on one of the many sites of MS?, if what you search it's down or moved, instead of a 404 they redirect you to a bing results page, so even if I dislike and never ever used bing, I have actually done searches in Bing against my will, we all know MS would never forge purposely wrong links for people to fall on the trap, right?. There is something to do against that?, for the average Joe? I guess not.. the automated scripts doing search queries from Win7 or one of the Live services it's likely to happen.

    Who cares, poor people getting biased or bad results only harm themselves, only MS wins more $ for their ads revenues on Bing and advertiser will be happy since Bing users would be the most gullible, it&#180;s a win/win for them.

    Well you cell phone company sucks, I get effective voice coverage In Leticia, a city near the Amazon river near to Brazil and Venezuela.. in the middle of the jungle literally. I was there for a couple of days and communications were not a problem, Internet is via satellite and Direct TV works just fine. heh, thats a "free trading zone" you can actually get a (real) iPhone for like 150 USD. I regret not testing 3G, oh yeah, we know what is that btw. Seeing aboriginal descendants going to internet cafes to receive distance education it's a WTF/cute moment :)
