Again from what I've read elsewhere, it doesn't appear to be affected by things like Leukemia, so for people with rare blood types, it could very well be a realistic and practical solution.
Not for blood banks, I agree. But in certain situations it could. Obviously there would be no point in using skin to create blood when people could just give blood at blood banks;)
From what I read in other articles not posted on slashdot, something like a 12x12 cm patch of skin is enough to create enough blood for a transfusion. That's about the same amount removed during normal grafting operations.
What pisses me off is that the MPAA and others can DDoS servers on a daily basis and not get in any trouble, but should a young man do it to Republicans, there is hell to pay. Talk about a double standard. Of course, seeing as how the MPAA bankrolls most of the republican's salaries and election funding, we shouldn't be surprised.
Does that mean that you shouldn't pay taxes for firefighting either? Should we privatize firefighting instead? What happens if your neighbour doesn't pay for firefighters and his fire spreads over to your house? Sure they could put out your fire, but some damage would be done, and your fees would be higher.
In regards to the internet, perhaps, perhaps not. Without a doubt it surely would have been developed later, and since technological advancements grow exponentially, we might still be back in the days of Mosaic browsers. What influence would that have on the world at large? Perhaps certain things wouldn't have been developed, maybe we wouldn't have discovered cures for illnesses which would cost millions or billions of lives?
Perhaps the US government has made more money off of their research than they have lost? Certainly US companies have gained a lot because of the invention of the internet. More than 100 billion dollars worth anyway.
Irrelevant argument. I get nothing out of my roommate stealing $2.50 (actually only $0.89 a month over 30 years), whereas the space station helps us grow as a civilization leading not only to an unmeasurable amount of scientific advancement but also helps provide potential security to threats from space (such as meteors or aliens;) ). The investment of 100 billion dollars is invaluable to us as a civilization. Certainly it helps me more than my roommate stealing money (unless he uses that money to directly or indirectly have a positive influence on my life in the future).
To follow my last post, I usually like to use the following argument: If I'm asked what the answer to 1+1 is, I'm going to answer '2'. I'm not going to say that the answer is '3' next time just to make my answer different.
Mozilla has succeeded in improving the browser world, and its rivals have outstripped it in terms of features
I read that line and decided that the author lost all credibility. Then I read TFA and realized that nowhere does the author of the actual article say that. Guess nk947 is adding his own (wrong) commentary into an otherwise somewhat less biased article?
You know it's actually capable of working without a blackberry tether, don't you? It's a completely independent device, but tethering allows you to use 3G data without having to pay for another data plan. It only acts as a larger screen for the blackberry IF YOU WANT IT TO. It's still a fully functional tablet, it just allows you to do more.
Better yet, why would you want to pay for data on two different devices when you can get away with only paying for one? Do you like throwing extra money at wireless carriers?
Are you also aware that 80% of all iPads sold don't have 3G enabled either? Why the double standard? And I'm not sure where you're getting your release date numbers either.
Why? We dont need this. We need a Storm 3 that WORKS! Why is RIM ignoring the market that made them successful? Let Apple have the consumers, let Droid have the geeks. Business needs a phone that just works, dammit. Oooh, a tablet. I can read my email with larger fonts? WTF?!?!?
Hey RIM, pssst! There is nothing wrong with having the boring, but secure, reliable but quick, phone that just works. NOTHING.
You are being distracted into oblivion by people who WONT BUY YOUR TABLET ANYWAY.
Moreover, designing for yesterday? They beat the iPad specs hands down, and QNX is a fantastic RTOS. What's wrong with a device that can do everything pretty damn well?
I love how your topic complains about them using outdated designs but the body of your post wants them to be solid and secure (exactly what they are now). Which is it? Contradict yourself much?
Sorry, what do you call the 9700? The Torch? The curves, and pearls that they release? RIM can hardly be faulted for not providing good business phones, especially with the release of 6.0. Much more choice than apple's one size fits all phone.

To add to that, the only people that really know better and can get around all of the "officially supported" crap are the people who probably wouldn't fall for such things in the first place.
Sure, that works. Unless you're at an office where IT is way behind the times and there is too much infrastructure in place to upgrade operating systems faster than 3-4 years after they are released. It's the same reason why lots of businesses still support IE 6 (or did until very, very recently) as the only browser.
Naw, don't you know? You can get a lot more reflections off the eyes than off the monitor. Zoom in on the eyes, extrapolate the reflection and enhance that!
I believe you forgot to wave your hand before your post. *Waves hand* "This is not the droid...err...thread you're looking for"
Sorry, couldn't resist;)
...how good Blackberry security is if they have countries worried that they won't be able to spy on their citizens and visitors properly without the password;)

Funny how most of the "leftist" young people you speak of are the ones attending universities and colleges. Perhaps they know something you don't?
HAH. Yeah...and conservatives are different eh? Once they stop stomping on people's heads for disagreeing with them, we'll talk.

Tell that to my university where I got accused of academic dishonesty for reusing one paragraph again in a course that I failed. Utterly ridiculous.
"Okay, I give myself permission to copy work from myself....there.....now it isn't plagiarism."
I'd also like to point out that clearly the author hasn't tried FF4.

Asbestos isn't normally ingested, and you normally don't come in contact with insulation.
Sounds like a case for the....Blackberry! (Unless RIM gave encryption to the Chinese government, that is)

Well, if Apple fans love AT&T, surely there's nothing wrong with them...
