    Of course I would care if my bomb was stolen! It takes quite a lot of money and effort to build one so I would be very unhappy if it went missing.

    Well, it is your problem if you miss the flight, not theirs. And don't act as if you are in great hurry, they might take you for more in-depth check just for the hell of it.

    Are you kidding? Checked baggage is scanned as well. Actually if you put electronics (or any valuables) in your checked baggage, you have good chance of never seeing them again.

    Have you read the summary? MS is already abusing this. As another commenter mentioned, this makes as much sense as seizing all AWS equipment and handing it to Amazon's competition to 'sort problems out'.

This is good enough to suspect that phone is backdoored (even assuming that Silent Circle is not simply NSA honeypot). Nice touch about putting blackphone homepage in .ch domain, it may actually fool somebody.

    We already have private prisons. Somehow I don't see employees getting charged with kidnapping, illegal detainment, assault, battery, etc.

    You are joking, but I can see something like 'number of arrests per dollar spent' becoming a way to compare and select LEC.

    What's wrong with that? Libertarians should love this - government slashed to bare minimum (or below) and everything in private hands. And as we know, *everything* is better when privately operated. Next step should be deregulating LEC market to enable true competition.
