1. It dosn't sovle the problem, just covers it up.
2. It never works anyway, ppl will find away aroud it, or they will just blatantly keep in doing it. And i say good for them.

That is what we need in the drive to retain freedom and restrain the inevitable corporate tendency to "embrace and extend" their own interests, an Open Source social movement.

If you want to bring down these coperations, simply abuse them like they abuse everyone else. Yes i run win98, but i didn't pay for it, and i never will pay or any software untill they change there way... and if they changed their ways then the would need money anyway.
I guess if you really want to you could just leave the US and go somewhere else; however the price for connectivity in other places would most likely be a hell of a lot more expensive and more unavaible.
Oh yeah... here in new zealand... only the very rich can affored internet access. One hour costs about US$16.95. And theres only one ISP that can a max of 10 at a time.
Serously... it isn't that expensive (no free ISPs though). I pay about $US 20 for 250 hours for my ISP, but u can get unlimited access for cheaper as well.
And. NZ is one of the most connected coutries in the world. US was quite low down if i remember right.
But if your talking about T1's etc.. then u might be right.

Anarchy is freedom. You seem to be making the same old mistake of confusing anarchy for chaos, anarchy is the opposite of chaos. anarchy is the idea that there are no rulers at all, and everyone one is alowed to do what they like except if it inficts upon someone esles freedom.
It is not like a state of chaos where everyone does what they like, with no repect, responsiblity, for anyone else.
Next time you want to use the word chaos, use chaos, not something else that is striving for something compleatly differnt.

Well... Linux is supposed to be about open source programming right? Money is not the goal. Making good software and giving it to anyone who wants it, in good will is the goal.
In other words, linux is supposed to communistic, anarchic. Not capitlistic. Caldera have obviously proved that they only want the money. That $1.5m will only go into the pockets of the ppl high up in Caldera, not the programmers.
They're making money off something which was not intendeed to have money made off it. It's hypocritical, and i can't see it doing anything for the open source movement.
Hiding background applications, to me, at least, is much more useful than WindowShading them
What about drag and drop support then? I know that alot of programs like freehand and pagemaker won't use the clipboard properly. The only way to get some things over is to drag and drop.
I might have miss understood this, but if i'm right, hopefully theres some way to turn it off or it could be pain in the butt.
To me, i think it's a step back, I like the fact that in winXX you can clearly see the other inactive windows. And i think grandma would be confused about the other dissapering windows concept.
Oh well... Still i have to say the interface does look better...

Uh yeah. But you see the US government has diffiernt ideas about what odd is.. e.g. Starting a civil rights movment. Which to them is a "crime".
It might be usful 4 the family pet. But anyone could easly get the chip out or dissable it if they really wanted to. So it won't stop that much kid napping.
But if it's case of the child just wondering off. Surly a whatch could do the trick, in stead of implanting a chip in to you cjild so the govenment can track and record every single move.

Computers can remember stuff, better than we can. But they can't be creative. So I'd rather have creativity. Which is really, true intelligence.
