Microsoft is fine to go ahead and do things behind the users back but they won't force IE updates on people. If they would do this (and quit worrying about if they've pirated Windows before allowing them to get IE updates) then we would have fewer problems. For once can't they abuse their monopoly in a way that helps society?
No, we've held the hands of these losers long enough and they're still on IE6. Everyone should tell these companies to either get left behind and die or move forward with the times.
Little to no new Windows software will run on your system and MS won't even support it after the summer. You'd be much better off installing Linux and if for some reason you need W2k, run it in a VM or on its own partition when needed. There is no legit reason to be running such outdated software all the time when Linux run fine on old hardware.
Firefox has already been sorted out with an MSI installer and the ability to use group policies. Non-lazy admins are finding ways to deploy Chrome.
Some admins are proactive and protect their users. Then there are others who have to pushed into doing something other than looking at Digg. These are the people maintaining all the IE6 machines.
Exactly, they should pay not the rest of the world so most major sites can clearly tell IE6 to fuck off and it shouldn't affect those companies because they don't to do online shopping or watch youtube videos.
Fuck 'em and leave them in the stone age where they belong.
Any company that is stuck with their backwards software can stay off the internet if they're too tight to buy software they can't modify and was clearly coded like utter shit or upgrade from that software.
They're at work, they don' need to use most Google services, Youtube, Ebay, etc. As far as I'm concerned no one should be catering to these losers.
So then really it's more a convenience for your friend. The trade off is the e-book allows you to carry hundreds of books with you all the time.
Printing is a dying industry. I doubt Amazon wants to set both items at the same price but instead it is the publisher that wants it. If the publisher does its own printing then it would want to protect its printing business.
Even if they don't own their own printing, as less printing is done then they either have to live with higher prices or lower quality both of which will have a negative effect on their business.
If the titles are old titles then there is a good chance they don't own the e-book rights and the publisher will have to renegotiate for those which obviously is not free.
I don't mind the prices. It's the DRM I could do without.
Not really. If she was sharing them then the loss is determined by how many people downloaded the song.
I generally support people sued by the RIAA but it is my opinion that she is a bit of a scum bag. Trying to blame on your kids is just a shitty thing. Perhaps she should lay off the peace pipe and get a decent job if she can't afford music.
Driving isn't a right but it's treated like one so very little is done, imo, to remove bad drivers from the road and for good if need be.
For those that say you need a car to have a job and live all I gotta say is people, like the woman you mentioned, should have thought about that. The thing is though she doesn't have to think about it because her licence won't be taken away.
I'm glad no one else is tracking me and that Bing doesn't use the same tactics. If you don't like being tracked then you should attack everyone rather than just the guy on top who will just end up being replaced by someone doing the same exact thing.
This is purely a guess and probably full of shit but I would assume it comes from the fact that monkeys and apes will often mimic humans and their movements so it makes perfect sense.
It's mainly because English is being dumbed down and internet is a breeding ground for dumb English so you aren't very likely to hear decent English. Hell, even I could afford to read everything before I press submit.
# any of various primates with short tails or no tail at all # imitate uncritically and in every aspect; "Her little brother apes her behavior" # copycat: someone who copies the words or behavior of another # caricature: represent in or produce a caricature of; "The drawing caricatured the President"
# anthropoid: person who resembles a nonhuman primate
You can thank me for the free English lesson later.
It doesn't look that nice (even if it's very similar), it just lacks the shine and finish you get from Apple produces, for instance scrolling through the pictures was anything but smooth, it lacks multi-touch. Hell it failed to load a picture due to memory that they had on the machine. It just looks like something designed by a PC company rather than Apple.
So if I'm in no way going to buy an iPad, I'm not going to buy a cheap knock-off.
I'm on the fence about that. I prefer to have full control over when something is updated. However I update my browsers all the time so why does it matter if it happens on its own? But more importantly so many don't update their browser which causes absolute nightmares for security and web developers so again it's a good thing.
I think the concern a lot of people have with home schooling is that home schooled kids can be subjected to abuse and it's easier to cover up when they don't leave the house. More importantly if anyone is allowed to do it then you will end up with stupid kids who were educated by religious nuts and yes some kids (like old neighbours I had) can end up socially retarded because they simply did not get enough contact with others.
Like anything, not everyone who is home schooled turns out the same. Parents who care will probably produce much better children than a school which I'm sure a lot of schools don't want to admit but there are also a lot of parent who will ruin their kid's life by doing what they want rather than what is best for the kid.
It's 3 letters at a time from a password. Either you have to have a shitty password or someone will still have to work at it for awhile.
I hope Verfied by Visa does catch people with their pants down. Fuck 'em, maybe they'll be more inclined to learn how to use their computer properly after they've been had by some kid in Russia.
Always call your bank / credit card company before going abroad. It will save you hassle especially if you don't travel. Anything that appears to be out of the ordinary will get questioned.

I can download one mp3 and then share it to 20 friends which would mean I was involved with 21 instances of copyright infringement.

It took exactly 2 seconds to find a solution on Google. Firefox MSI installer: http://www.frontmotion.com/Firefox/
