  1. Re:Sony? on 30 Blu-ray Discs In a 1.5TB MiniDisc-Like Cassette · · Score: 1

Sony didn't do the zip drive and while the mini disc never caught on for selling pre-recorded media it definitely worked as a recording medium. It sure as hell was infinitely better than portable CD players but everyone invested in CDs and did not want to re-buy their music. Minidisc has been around for ages. It was only in the end of 2011 they'll stop selling mini disc walkmans so that's nearly 20 years for the media's walkman by one company for a format that had no pre-recorded media.

I'd say that's pretty successful imo.

I'm not stupid enough to limit my options. Sony by in large has done good things. Just because they've made a few fuck ups doesn't mean I'm going to purposely pay more for a TV. My Sony CD player still works as new over 20 years later. This new particular format is interesting. Their mini disc format was exceptional too. It didn't really catch on but that doesn't mean it wasn't exceptional and again, my Sony MD players are still like new and I even pulled out my walkman last year to see if it works and it does.

Life as an angry butt-hurt nerd must suck when you have so many things you can't buy.

That's a load of shit. Anytime something negative happens that involves Apple, no matter how small their involvement is then their name is in the headlines.

When was the last time anyone complained about the xbox 360 being made in the evil Foxconn factory? Or actually parts for most every computing device on this planet? Compare how the 4S signal issue was handled to Nokia's all out busted Windows phones. It's so bad Nokia is giving away the phone for free.

Apple and Google are indeed big corporations too but the idea that MS is getting bullied or treated unfairly is a load of rubbish. I would argue no one really talks about them because their name, unlike Apple's, does not get the hits coming in to websites.

I doubt that's true. From what I read on the register the problems are around chemical holdings and LCD screens and basically anything that's not the PS3 or has DRM. The PS3 is doing well and despite the year lead the 360 had it's caught right up to it. So the supposed war against their customers must be going well.

Apple is much more involved in the whole process of creating an iphone. They do the OS, the hardware, etc. So naturally they should make more than a company that creates the OS with the help of others and then lets manufacturers take all the risk.
