    Maybe you're right. Nowadays there's people that "can't live" (metaphorically speaking) without the Internet, but you can in fact disconect from the Internet.

    In the future, I think we'll have to be connected to a network (I don't think it'll be the Internet) owned by governments and used for identifying the people, for knowing where they are, etc. All this with a pocket-device, or maybe a in-skin chip.

    flash, where all the "load-often, change rarely" data goes, like applications, OS, etc. Maybe you want an i-RAM drive. It's very fast, but has limited capacity.

    Or, at least, you can use it as virtual memory.

    Microsoft Works I would say Microsoft doesn't work a lot. M$ does a lot of copy/paste, but that isn't "to work".

    ODF: 5+ applications can write the format.
    OOXML: Zero applications can write the format. And M$ Office can't read/write ODF nor OOXML (maybe can read this?)!
