Where I live, you can't use a phone from another carrier, SIM card or no. The only alternative is to have an outside address you can use and get Verizon or something. It sucks.

I too have a WRT54G router v.7. I do not have any problems on it except that I cannot install a third party firmware on it.
Well as per the rules mentioned on the website, downloading from the ftp site does not count towards the record
