I can think of a few reasons:

    • All of your friends have iPhones and you feel the need to have one as well.

That's a stupid reason, grow a god damn backbone.
If your friends kill themselves, wil you too?

You need to feel like you are part of an "in" crowd.

Even more ridiculous, only feeble minded people buy for that reason, and those people tend to be idiots.

The others are more or less valid, but still make it seem like a crappy platform

A ram disk was a mounted filesystem that existed solely in Memory, AmigaOS always mounted this when powering up, you'll always see a 'Ram Disk' icon on Workbench. You also had ways to do this on DOS (and windows), and off course linux has things like ramfs.

Well it depends on whom you believe, the person stating he was issuing threats also said he mailed them daily, it doesn't take a math genius to know that 132 mails over 5 years isn't daily...

They (the city office) also claim they had to assign a person full time (that 38 hours per week) to the task of answering the emails.

The only factual information that the article contains is the sentence, the period over what time frame the mails were sent & the total number of mails, it's plain to see someone is exaggerating here

There are a lot more articles concerning the case, the background and the current situation (it's still being fought out in courts)

Well i'd say 'good for my wallet' ;)

The thing is, i love gadgets, and i really want to like the iPad, but so far it's more like a very limited smart phone with a big screen, i could use it to manage my inventory (dvd's, cd's, comics,...), but it has no way of scanning barcodes, i'd love to use it as a portable device to take with me if i have to give a presentation but it has no connectivity whatsoever, i could use it as a portable movie player, but it has no storage connectivity or slots, the battery autonomy is too limited to use it as an eBook Reader, and for mail and internet it has pretty much the same problem as my phone, no real tactile keyboard (although i suppose i could use a BT keyboard, but it would've been nicer if the keyboard was integrated into the machine with a foldout mechanism or something),...

The concept of a tablet isn't the problem, the limitations of this tablet for me are, i just don't get all the fuss about it (or Apple in general)
