With the amount of math and science you've taken, you could probably easily qualify for a teaching job through teach for America and the like, and they don't care that you haven't taken any education courses and don't have a master. Pay's not great, but most of the fellowships pay for your masters.
I've had corrupted files with just about every tool I've ever used. Abuse the files enough (by transferring 'em between enough machines/disks/usb sticks/online storage sites and opening, editing, and saving 'em in enough different programs and operating systems and the random file starts to fall apart. I've gotten into the habit of usb+email for anything sufficiently important.
On a side note: My open office is constantly trying to recover files, on both windows and linux. (Actually, on one of my kubunutus it's decided to be really buggy and go on an infinite recovery loop.)
I ran with NoScript and it was so flakey that I gave up. I also have adblock plus and chatzilla and that's it for add ons. My plugins are the standards (adobe, flash java (I've got two-could that be crashing it?), windows media player, windows DRM) and a few that just sneaked in (a bunch of labview plugins and vlc, which I've got on my comp, and windows presentation foundation which seems like a standard.) I really can't figure out what I'm doing that's so different from anyone else.
Dude, I almost never use IE. I've been trying to migrate my mommy away from it for ages. I've been using a mozilla browser since firebird (can't remember if I used phoenix) and on my linux box I used epiphany or konqueror when firefox did cranky lock ups (then I learned about lock and.parentlock.)
Seriously, why does complaining about something that I've been loyal to for years make me a troll? I love ff and rec it at every opportunity, but this version is constantly breaking for me.
Do you know how many times I have called Verizon abut an issue only to have their automated POS system dump me into the ether and drop my call? About 10 times easy
Call at 2am it's the only time I've been able to get half decent service with them. Granted, it's still half an hour of scripts, then escalation (though usually they do explain things to the next tech) and I've had it drop on me between scripts and escalation.
Though what's more annoying, with various companies, has to be all those "notes" that are supposed to be on the account aren't, so I've gotta clear up something for the zillionth time before moving on to the next step.
I agree and would add that service for my Thinkpad via Lenovo was also outstanding.
They're also pretty good when they screw up the first time, which I appreciated. I had to send my tablet in (basically painless process) and it came back still broken. Called up, sent it in again, and they fixed it, but then DHL lost the laptop. They were really good about helping me find it, they called up DHL and provided me with lots of updates and I didn't feel totally out of the loop. (Ended up getting my laptop back just fine.)
My ff on linux isn't that cranky-it's just the one on windows. It's got a tendency to crash on slashdot and mangaupdates (specially when I'm downloading stuff), doesn't really care if I've got 5 or 25 tabs open.
I upgraded firefox and now it decides to crash every 15 minutes, when it used to only crash every half our. So yeah, I'd just like a browser that lets me complete all my web tasks without dying on me.
Oops, sorry about that. I give up. It's like one wrong for every half right, and that's just disappointing 'cause once upon a time I knew my psych better than this.
What's the nope in response too? I'm sort of failing to see where we disagree. I agree with you that quality doesn't impact taste in the least, but I've seen a lot of online profiles that don't want to admit that. (It tends to be a certain type of people who have those profiles, which is why they're important even while being untrue, but still.)
Not quite-a psychopath isn't grounded in reality, whereas a sociopath may be. I didn't put psychosis anywhere in my heirarchy 'cause I know it isn't. (A schizophrenic has psychotic episodes, but often isn't a psychopath.)
Sorry, see my response to the ac above. I wonder why I've never been called on it before, guess open office or word corrects for it or I've got lazy professors.
You're my soul mate? I like the pretentious stuff everyone says they like but nobody really does, the popular stuff nobody wants to admit to liking, and everything in between. (Well with respect to movies more so than music.) I figure most people are like that. It's all in that mix and the stuff you choose to highlight.

Uh dude, I'm just responding to people's suggestions.

Been there, tried that.
Have noscript and adblock plus-still get tons of crashes. Use avg to clean (and run it weekly.)
Tried that already, didn't work. One of these days I've just gotta do a reinstall.
*headdesk* and yes that should be cranky -- it's or cranky — it's, I did just get the whole lesson.

Slashdot, some mangasites, some download sites, and email. Only started getting bad once I upgraded.

No, I'm just saying that a certain mix of answers read false.
And yes, I should have ended that sentence with a ?, not a .
Uh, I like the correction and I should know better 'cause I'm a writing tutor. Seriously not a big deal, and they were being helpful.
I've got no qualms about posting my name to stupid comments, why would I bother going through the hassle of logging out and back in.

sorry, too used to using - for an em-dash 'cause I can't even find an em-dash on my laptop.
That's a design flaw in your parser-it should know to recognize "-" as the preface to a new dependent clause.
My sig is ADD+sparkles, so I'd be surprised if it didn't make people go cross eyed.
