Do you use Fink or Macports at all? I think it makes up for the lacking in certain types of software. I do wish more open source software was ported to os x to run in native code though.
All jokes aside, wouldn't it be a huge risk to the systems integrity and stability to use windows because of the vast amount of malware that affects windows? Even with the most stringent regulations put in place for the use of the computers, I don't see how they could totally prevent such an occurrence, or at least be 100% sure that it wouldn't occur.
It just seems to be such a silly sort of operating system to use for such a task, and their potential short-term savings will possibly be negated by the potential negative consequences that could occur with using windows where stability is a huge requirement.
For the economies sake then, we can only hope that Microsoft does the right thing and makes Windows 7 the most bloated version of windows yet. Also including the added bonus of optional "economy-booster" slowdown packs available exclusively through Windows Live.
Am I the only one here that skipped the first part of the article and thought for a moment that the end of the world was going to be caused by worm hibernation, Robo-Lizards and Fungus-faced bats?
But Apple have already used the name iBook for one of their past laptop range: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBook

What we really need is a filter to filter out dingo jokes.
