Told me that if I had a new computer I didn't even have to buy a DSL modem, I could use the modem that came in my computer. Just as he was.
Actually back in the later 90's there was a big push to include dsl modems in PC's and quite a few companies bought into it. It did not help that not everyone was working towards the same standard though.
There is nothing technically complicated about making a PCI card that can perform as a DSL modem, it just did not catch because of conflicting standards and the unwillingness of the baby bells to roll out DSL.
I also have an i300 and spent some time comparing with a freinds treo. The treo is wider but not as long as the i300 and they weigh about the same. I think the treo is nicer for talking since it elongates when you flip it open. Additionally the holster for the treo is a bit nicer than anything I have seen for the Samsung.
In favor of the samsung though is that the battery is removable and this is a big plus. With the treo you cannot swap out the battery when it gets low you need to plug it in. The talk time for both units seemed to be about the same for a full charge.
Since I normally use my phone most in the car and with a headset I am fine not have the flip up earpiece and the holster I am getting used to but hope someone will come up with a better one soon.
To address one of the other concerns brought up. Sprint does have a solution for getting your exchange mail but it is a bit clunky. Additionally I thought the mail synching feature of the treo was not available yet? at least it was not when the phone first came out.
You should probably take a look at the manual for your phone. You can access any of the palm features while your on the phone. Additinally you can dial directly from your address book. Use the palm scroll to page down or up then you can use the scroller on the side to scroll line by line to the entry you want to call then press the button above the side scroller which is normally the record button. You then get to choose which number to call and push the button again and it calls.
I compared notes with someone I knew who picked up a treo. we were at lunch and put the two side by side. The i300 is decidedly smaller but weighs about the same. The i300 also comes with a spare battery that you can charge in the back of the cradle. Even though the unit is color I have gotten the same talk time as I was getting on my old Motorola Star Tac with an extended life batery. Additionally it charges quickly off of the car charger and since I picked up the car charger I have not had to use the 2nd battery once.
If they really want to stay in touch with people on the other side of the block they would do just fine by getting a Hotmail or Yahoo Mail account to correspond with.
I was at the interview this morning. It did not seem as bad as portrayed by the news byte. One of the examples seemed to imply the use of triggers like if you rent a truck and then buy tons of fertalizer and you are not a farmer maybe the fbi will give you a little knock on the door or something. Although I am not totally convinced of te need for this level of information gathering.
Also in regards to the post. I know at least two of the highjackers obtained thier drivers licenses using falsified documentation.
All water cooling solutions require a fan for the radiator device. You must move air accross it. As pointed out in the other post these fans are usually larger than the norm.
The issue with you getting dsl is not likely the fiber itself but a device called a dlc read more here
You should still be able to get idsl for the time being and it is much better than dial up. Also most of Northern Virginia has cable modems available through cox or comcast.
