  1. Not Just JPL on NASA Requires JPL Scientists To Give Up Right To Privacy · · Score: 2, Informative

I worked for the BLM, Department of Interior and anyone with administrative access to workstations or servers had to go through the same SF-85 FBI check. I'm sure that this idiocy is going on everywhere in the Federal system. An interesting side-effect is that the FBI/OPM is is so far behind that many prospective employees take other job offers before their investigation is complete. Many positions are going unfilled and this adds to the government's sluggishness. The ID card program is a spectacular failure and only confirms the incompetence at the top.

First they send a letter, asking you to cooperate with an audit. If you ignore or refuse then they will be back with contract lawyers and federal marshalls and shut you down in order to secure the evidence against you (your servers and hard drives). Most choose the audit as it is cheaper than a shutdown. This has happened even in remote Alaska.

I would assume you have never been in series with 440 or 480 volts. It is very hard or impossible to let go of once touched. Although it's true your heart restarts eaiser, the smell of burning flesh is quite unpleasant and the healing is prolonged.

Even in a sealed box, condensation will be a problem unless you throw in a couple of 1 lb bags of dessicant (DO NOT EAT). Swap them out with some fresh bags every 6 months or as needed. Some bags have blue/pink indicators for good/replace decisions. Use the microwave to dry out and recycle the old bags.
