I agree with this. The dual head gaming machine that was at spring Comdex from Penguin Computing was very nice looking, and with XFree4 ability to have more than one video card, imagine dual dual head cards for 4 monitors. Or would that be quad head then?:)
Anyway, I'm waiting for Matrox's next card out the pipe to see what they have, they have always been good with driver support for any OS, MS or *nix from what I gather.
the 802.11B standard is 1.(2?) ghz and uses microwave... really tight wave pattern so that it doesn't loose data over distance... as far as I know, the AirPort is just uses the 802.11 standard and in theory could be used in conjunction with PC hardware to provide a base unit for wireless pcmcia cards or the desktop based units... from what I've seen, the receiver units for the PC hardware are quite expensive, but using the AirPort you get a pretty cost effective setup.
One would think, looking at the basic structure to most of the Blizzard games, that it would be easy to port the underlying code to linux and then translate it to the other games. I don't know how similar Diablo is to the StarCraft/WarCraft games but StarCraft/WarCraft look to run on the same fundamental engine. How true is this? I would go for a Star/WarCraft port, and Blizzard could move a large portion of it's gaming stable to Linux. Other games I would like to so Half-Life - based on Quake2 (right?) shouldn't be too hard... most of the work is already done Harpoon2 - or has this been done? excellent game.. Diablo2 - ok... so everyone wants this:) Diablo1 StarCraft WarCraft2 C&C et al
This would be great, and could spell the end to my use of VM-Ware... would much rather access the programs on the network than have that dsk image on my hd.

Mr Phil
- John Romero will provide backup as long as he can find that goddamn katana-sword-thing that he lost in his hair 3 years ago.
I almost fell out of my chair reading this.

Laptops with linux w/ AMD k6-3 chips good prices too
THIS I remember. And it's still useful! Ever set someone's shell to wumpus? Takes care of less than honest accounts really fast :)
wouldn't a NDA be violated now that you said there were great things coming?
not that I want to be a jerk, just that I find that curious
