Maybe, the problem is that none of the "new" GUI's are really all that new. I see little more then the current whack a mole interface that has plagued the whole GUI interface from the beginning. The only new interface I have heard of is Apple's Siri.
I remember that. Actually at my school it wasn't a separate line it was a glowing orange ticket that was different from the tickets for the regular meals.
And so continues the take over of the US by the corrupt political parties. Soon the ruling party will outlaw the other party. They've already made it practically illegal to be an independent.
Shows how Linux can change to make people more comfortable with it
Now, Lets see windows with the look and feel of my Awesome Window Manager (Dynamic Window Manager). Maybe then I wouldn't feel sick to my stomach everytime I work with windows.
I agree with the statement that Simplicity and speed should always be priority #1. I have switched browsers frequently through the years and always for the same reason. A browser that was faster and whose main goal was to display HTML pages.
I moved to Phoenix because its start time was low and it was simple. At one point I even used the Java Web Browser for the same reason.
However, Firefox has become slower over time. This prompted my switch to chrome. I am sure that I will switch again when chrome becomes too slow (Uzbl or Surf look good)
It would be nice to see Firefox return to its roots.
I've never understood that argument. I see that my documents are safer on the web on Google Servers then they are bouncing around on my laptop in the back of my car. I doubt that Google ever allows employees to take home backup tapes like the State of Ohio did until they were stolen
I really think laptops with important data on them are more of a threat to privacy then Google will ever be.
And what possible reason would I have to transfer files from a virus malware ridden Windows Machine to my clean Linux machine
Windows is not a standard it is what the sheep have flocked to
I always find it funny when I get a popup from my browser on Linux asking if I would like a anti-virus scan. Sometimes it will show me how my C: drive is corrupted and would I like to pay for a version of their anti virus software. One of these even offered to replace my system32.dll .
This just shows how fake these scans really are
You have hit on an important point. No OS is perfect for all users. I love the idea of a free Google Netbook. I have started my kids using Google Apps. Why, because I do not have to worry about operating systems. I can cheaply build a linux system for them using cheap hardware simply because all I really need is a browser. Combine this with Google Gears for those rare times the Internet is down and you have a very productive system.
This way if my kids want to work at the library, home or school everything is right there.
So as far as a free Google Netbook I'll take one for each member of my family.
I don't see this as a problem, more like a step in the right direction.
In some ways Ubuntu suffers from some application bloat. I question why Tom Boy Notes, F-Spot, Open Office and a host of others are even included. With the app repository it becomes very simple to get these if you really need them anyway.
In the 3.x days of windows you did not get a Word Processor, internet browser, Office Suite in the base product. You got to choose which one you wanted. It would be great to see Ubuntu move in the direction of choice instead of pushing apps on a user.
Have people become so stupid that we need to legislate common sense.
This explains why there are warning labels about sticking your hand in a running lawn mower, or
warning labels on a box of Q-tips. Man I hope survival of the fittest kicks in soon so we can get rid of the idiots

I want more choices
Because its safer then my hard drive.
It would be interesting to see how many users had their hard drive crash and lost everything yesterday.
This reminds me of when Parcplace and Digitalk merged. The infighting did no good to the Smalltalk language.
Hate to break it to you, But Rockmelt is based on Chrome
When people climb Everest they really want to get away from it all. Now they can't
Competing with Go, Momentum?
More like ripped off Go with an inferior product. Once they killed Go they also killed Windows for Pen
So, pay Google for more storage. At $5 a year for 20gigs it seems to be worth it.

Now would be a good time to slip something in that outlawed political parties. Once they are out of the way we can get back to being a Democracy
I don't see how this is bowing to Chinese pressure. Once someone clicks one extra link they have access to the same information the rest of us have.
Google has set an example that the rest of the world needs to follow.

They have rented a less expensive Condo in california Americathon
No one would post a sarcastic remark

There are a lot of us out there with that problem. I will not be able to replace the songs I listened to on Lala.

It's about whether or not you can convince a bunch of idiot politicians that you are too big to fail

Yes there is an economic benefit. This means that when Google upgrades I don't have to buy a new machine
Are you listening Microsoft and Dell?

Looks like its time to install Vimperator http://vimperator.mozdev.org/ again
