    Immune form criticism maybe,(But not that I have noticed) but not immune from being killed by the hundered of thousand by revenge crazed americans (Iraq Afghanistan Palesitine etc). I am sick of americans bleating about 9/11 when they have killed many many more people before and since than were killed on 9/11. If you didnt go around interfering in other countries to gain financial advantage (Remember who trained and financed Bin Laden?)you might have a point.

    Oh I see and chritians never kill anyone due to intolerance. Apart form the IRA, the crusades, the Spanish Inquisition etc.
    Fact is that extremists exist and act the same way in all religions. It says a lot about you that you single out muslims,
    for criticism for smoething that is by no means unique to them. Its not even all that common if you look at the numbers.

    I have never seen a case where they ask questions, their minds are made up already and no ammount of evidence/answers will change it. After all they might have to drive their SUV overcompensationveichles a bit less or something, and we cant have that!

    Same with anti vaccination loonies, and creationists, they all use the same tactics of internet circle jerk where one denialist site quotes another as a reference. The facts whilst interesting are considered irrelevant.

      I have got to the point where i dont even bother to challenge them anymore, as their objections are based in their self interest allowing them to ignore relevant facts and use nit picking irrelevancies to support their case.

    For some reason what seem to be otherwise intelligent people here on Slashdot show a remarkable degree of stupidity on this issue. Then again a lot of them propound libertarian claptrap too, so I guess I shouldnt be too shoucked.

    Exactly right sir, the arrogance of the US is incredible. He should not be extradited to a country with such an applaing prison system and downright uncicivilsed legal system that has the death penalty, and has repeatedly been found to have executed innocent people.

    Your problem is the ludicrous concept of electing judges. I by far prefer the system of appointment by peers we have. In fact allowing the general public to elect judges is one of the stupidest things I can imagine.

    I think the telecoms industry would like to have a word with you about the invention of phantom power. Phantom power cicuits were orginally designed for putting 2 48V phones down 1 set of lines!

    Back in my early days as a telecom apprentice, one of the tricks we got up to was removing the carbon center
    conductor from a big dry cell, mounting it on 1 50V DC busbar via a large nut then screwing it out until an arc was drawn, instant carbon arc lighting. Dropping a shifting spanner on the busbars gauranteed a HUGE BOOM, and a vapourised spanner.

    3 things worry me about DC transmission.

    1. Corrosion is a much bigger problem, cars are usually negative eart so that corrsion occours on the
    device rather than the chassis side, maiking it reapirable.

    2. Switching. To switch the same current of DC as AC the swithch needs to be a LOT bigger as arcing can and will occour with DC switches.

    Have a look at the specs of switches, often the switch will handle 5 or more times current with AC than DC.

    3. When touched one muscles tend to lock on to the item with DC.

    Having just bought an iphone 4S I can at least say the battery life is pathetic, I am lucky if it lasts a day. Like the phone but wish I could change the battery.
