I purchase lots of laptops for work and I get them from Dell and HP. The SAME spec Dell as a macbook is $1500 aust. The mac book is $2395 aust. Apparently you have never purchased many laptops from major vendors!
Intersetingly, I heard a woman on the radio who had a holiday in Iran recently. She commented on how friendly and welcoming the people were there, and that she did not feel threatened at any time.

In Australia at least Internode, one of the leading ISP's does not throttling. They do shape traffice, but only after you have used your monthly quota, which can be increased at extra cost per month at any time. This system works very well for me.

I am eternally gratefull we do not allow people to carry guns in public here, due to the Port Arthur massacre we got rid of most weapons in private hands about 10 years ago, since doing so we have not had one of the regular mass murders one see's frequently in the US.
No one needs to carry a gun here, I have lived here for 35 yeasr and never even seen a gun drawn in public, even by our police who are the only people allowed to be armed.
