Maybe because Linux desktop is still shitty and unpolished to "average Joe" use. But this said, the Windows 10 is ALSO shitty, I would use Windows 7 or maybe Android (the polished Linux)
Funny, because I've installed Linux Mint on numerous computers and it just worked out of the box.
Also most people will first experience Linux on a Steam Machine, not Raspberry Pi.
For now. In a few months you will need to make updates, you will want to install new versions of applications (but incompatibles with your distro version) and maybe even do things that have not been included in the distro by default, and is at this point that you will run into the unsolved Linux desktop problems.
For me the problem is the linux desktop in specific, it is a piece of shit. The kernel itself is okay, but you can not have a usable desktop with just a kernel. People keeps with Windows 7 (myself included) because despite its internal problems the desktop works, and works well enough so you do not need to be an expert in order to use it. Maybe this will change in the future, but I will not count on it.

In my humble opinion anyone can and have the right to try to create "the perfect means" to solve the problems of others. The problem lies in the fact that to do something that will be used by millions you need to be really, really good for this to work, and most developers who volunteer for it does not have the competence to such task or worse, they think they have.

As I said in part that you went over, the average is 50/50 between rationality and instinct, not 100% instinct as your binary interpreter understood. What I meant - and your interpreter also ignored or failed to process - is that you can not assume that humans would be 100% rationality. And I can put up too the disturbing detail of how the behavior of rats of the experience are similar to the behavior of actual human social groups when you look at the whole, or you already forgotten what others have learned in the decline of the Japanese population?
No generalized health insurance - Good. Why should I, someone who takes good care of his body, fund the risky behaviours of others who don't?
You will remember this one when you have an accident and have to go through a complex and really expensive surgery... My country is a general third-world shithole, but here anyone that have an accident like the one I have described will not be left to die on the hospital door because he could not pay.

The fact is, to start the driver user interface is really shitty and amateur. 160MB (or more) to make a user interface for a driver, really? Second, I suppose I don't need to mention the thousands of cases of problems caused by the driver (the hardware itself is good), I will not do all the necessary research for you just ignore it.
But what bothers me more in this case is that AMD known for years that their drivers are shitty, but nevertheless rather than fix the confusion they only makes even worse (see the new "crimson" driver, that seems to have been written by a designer who knows nothing about usability or drivers, even less about K.I.S.S.)
I doubt they are after those who are truly autistic, my guess is that they want the aspergers (functional autistic). Aspergers are known to have an attention to detail and focus on what they are doing that the current generation of developers do not have even under effect of pure caffeine, then you have better chances of having a good code in boring (but fundamental) cases that the teeny "rockstars" do not want to come close even with long sticks.
And the performance? Boris (the creator of ENB) warned more than once that the Windows 10 hinders certain tricks that he uses to make Skyrim perform better.
In my case the Windows 10 disrupts or blocks a number of useful hacks that are used in games (Skyrim as example) like SKSE and the ENB Series. I understand that is an analog behavior of a virus (SKSE injects code on the Skyrim working memory), but in Windows 7 you have the option to authorize it while Windows 10 does not work or works erratically. Also, in my honest opinion the Windows 10 GUI is a total piece of shit but that's personal preference
