The majority of Halo fans are console gamers. People that hadn't ever seen a real multiplayer FPS game before. Meanwhile PC gamers had 64 player deathmatch back in early 1997 with Quakeworld, and 16 player deathmatch in 1996 with Quake. Rewinding even earlier the PC gamer crowd was doing Doom multiplayer deathmatches back in 1994.
So when PC gamers express a less than steller attitude towards Halo, it is most likely because they have "been there and done that" for a long time now. FPS games have been a big selling point for PC gaming for a long time.
Halo doesn't show PC gamers anything that haven't already seen before.
Why is it racist for me to hate blacks, when lots of Japanese people also hate blacks? The answer is "GO READ A FRICKIN DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF RACIST YOU TOOL"!
Isn't it funny how every election, people claim that this is not the election to vote for a third party? I heard this same crap last election from both Dems and Pubs. It is a vicious circle, but you don't need to keep feeding the beast.
Mathematical algorithms are discovered, not invented, by humans; therefore, they are not patentable.
Sounds like Platonism to me. While I do agree with patent reform, I disagree that the claims of Platonism are fact. What evidence do you have to support your party's claim that mathematical algorithms are discovered and not invented?
Opening up the PDF in xpdf for Linux causes the bill to be rendered and a few seconds later, the red colored "SPECIMEN" text is written ontop of the bill. It should not be hard to remove this top layer, resulting in a government provided digital copy of a $50 bill. Lovely.
Didn't the government acidentally make this mistake with CIA documents that had people's names blacked out with a separate top layer, that was easily removed?

Just because aspects of a random search are deterministic, doesn't make it much more than a random search, each one highly tailored to some problem domain. There is no intelligence, just a bunch of dice rolling until a desired pattern has been recreated. Not very impressive. I could create a program that randomly generates bitmaps. Eventually it will recreate the Mona Lisa and other famous works of art. However, such as thing is not impressive, yet this is exactly what the AI community does.
That is not true at all! The UDE installer works on 1.6 Xboxes. I used it on my older brother's Xbox and a friend's Xbox just this past week. You do not know what you are talking about.
I have an inkjet printer that can recreate famous works of art, but that doesn't make it intelligent. Please don't try to use the highly dubious field of AI to justify anything, as that would be pseudo-science at best. AI is always big on claims and promises, but little on real substance.
You have guys with pseudo-random number generators rolling the dice billions of times until a highly directed "genetic algorithm" recreates known human inventions, and somehow this is supposed to be enlightening, useful, or important? It's nothing more than a stochastic search!
Newer versions of the first two games have been minted, but as long as you use an older copy of the game everything works fine. The patches can't retroactively change the data on already minted DVDs.
The Ultimate Dash Exploit that I linked to as no clock loop problems, and it also has a builtin rescue method that is activated by booting with the tray open. Making a UDE exploited Xbox unbootable is just about as easy as making a mod-chipped Xbox unbootable, i.e. you have to be a serious retard that actively tries to make their Xbox unbootable.
Last but not least, if you actually made your Xbox unbootable, you can still boot using one of the aforementioned games, which allows you to get an FTP server up and running on your Xbox. So you can still fix an unbootable Xbox without a Mod-chip.
Also, with a press of a button, a UDE exploited Xbox can be returned to a factory fresh state, which cannot be said for Mod-chips, which require breaking labels on the case to open up the Xbox and install the chip.
So I will say it again, why buy a mod chip? The UDE software exploit is easier, safer, less invasive, does not permanently alter your Xbox, and it costs far far less... assuming you know someone with one of the aforementioned games and flash card dongles, then you can mod your Xbox for free using the UDE software exploit. The mod-chip method still costs at least $50.
Rent or borrow one of the following games: 1. 007 AUF 2. MechAssault 3. Splinter Cell
Rent or borrow an Action Replay for the Xbox, or some other USB Xbox save cart dongle.
Then use this software xbox modding method: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sh owtopic=2 27528
It is just as good as a mod chip. You can boot directly into Xbox Media Center, from which you can launch custom software, downloaded Xbox games, burned Xbox games, movies, music, etc.
Your entire post describes how different decisions matter. If two people do the exact same things, say the exact same things, etc, but one uses one reasoning process different from the other... then from the external point of view, they are equivalent. So yes, it would make allot more sense if more intelligent decisions were made with regards to Iraq, but they weren't... and Kerry did nothing to change that.
If an adult gives a baby a loaded gun, then who is to blame when someone gets shot? Kerry gave Bush a loaded gun. I wouldn't want either types of people running our country.
It doesn't matter what drives Bush versus that which drives Kerry. Both made the same decisions: both supported the Patriot Act and both supported war in Iraq. If the decisions that they make are the same, then their reasoning process (or lack there of) is irrelavent.
Except he did vote to put them there in the first place. Kerry supported the Patriot Act and the War in Iraq, as did Bush. This lack of choice implies we need a new party.
So if you don't go from 6% to 40-50% in less than a year, then you need to take many years. We know this, but each year you need to support the oppotunity for the growth of a viable third party. This is an example of how NOT to support the growth of a viable third party. If you stop them from doing very basic things such as be listed on the ballot, participate in debates, etc... then how are we ever supposed to foster new options?
I really hope that Kerry loses in every state that the Democrats used the courts to keep Kerry off of the ballot. Then idiots like you will see that your party's candidate lost not because of Nader, but because your party had a weak candidate.
At least 3rd parties can claim that they lose because they were never given a fair chance to begin with... they lose because of idiots like you.
Was al Queda in Iraq before Bush invaded? No. Are terrorists in Iraq after Bush has invaded? Yes. Is Iraq a better place now? No.
Bush is a failure. He let 911 happen, when listed in the job description of the president of the USA is national defence. After 911, Bush led an ineffective war against al Queda, and bin Laden is still on the run.
Bush has diverted the nations attention from the war on terror by lying to the country about stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction so as to direct its attention and efforts towards a war on Iraq, which has left that country bloodied and broken... on the brink of civil war, and the USA has lost over 1000 of its troops and hundreds of billions of dollars.
So wait, since I plan on voting for Nader and have never planned on voting for Nader, if I find Nader is not on the ballot I am going to decide to vote for Kerry? That is specious reasoning.
Justice lost! I am voting for Nader as he is on the ballot in my state, but if I was in Florida, I would be very angry. Nader has a right to run for president, and this ruling is an attempt by the Democratic party to strip him of his rights. Just goes to show you that both Dems and Pubs can't be trusted.

The majority of people claiming such a thing before the 2000 selection were Republicans. Stop feeding the Repulicrat beast!
How is the parent post Flamebait? I guess it is true that Slashdot moderation just doesn't work for political threads.
