I am hopeful you're right, it would be very nice to see actual independent thought in republicans for a change, instead of total block action. The country as a whole would be far better off for it.
There was a LOT of seeking input, and a good bit of compromise offered, but the only input that was ever given was either "No", or "Lets make it even better for insurance companies wishing to cherry pick their clients".
Surgery has enough of a risk factor just in itself, it discourages most all of this line of thinking. How many people do you know that ever consider surgery anything but a last resort?
Sad as it is, if you're seeking unbiased news, you can get it from the Daily Show... sort of.
It isn't really a news site, and it does at first glance have a pretty decent liberal slant, until you realize its not really slant, just a product of the fact that the show is about making fun of dishonest media, which happens to be much stronger from the opposite side of the spectrum you think they're biased in, and they do in fact target both sides.
The news side is also not really intentional, its just they make fun of enough bad reporting that you can get somewhat of a picture from them.
Yes, you could. Not bothering to code to standards and using broken mode, is exactly what got them to this point. Nothing has been forgotten, just people thinking short term.
And the point everyone else is making, is that those upper managers made their bed, and now they can lie in it. There was plenty of oppertunity to require standard compliant code in all their purchasing, they chose not to.
Yeah but most all of the executive orders are on issues the executive branch does control. I don't understand how that's the case with treaty situations.
Guantanamo is a mil base, well under exec jurisdiction, and no actual war has been declared, so its hard to call them prisoners of war. I don't particularly like the fact that non citizens are not getting reasonable protections from prosecution, but there is an argument there at least for justification.
Free speech zones I do take issue with, though its hard to call it oppression as compared to just overreaching by police entities, I am however very disapointed in the judicial branches (all of them, not just top federal) for upholding those policies as valid.
Ok, I'll admit I've never heard of such a thing before, so I have to ask, exactly how is that not a treaty, just using a different name to try to skirt approval requirements?
Firmware updates happen pretty often. Im a fairly recent customer to it, but i have seen none of the issues you describe, even running stable backups across my mpls over site to site vpn tunnels, dont see lsp renego very often at all
Yeah, worked as head engineer for ISPs forever. Even a lot of areas of real cities have crap lines, Bell cherry picks to hell and back. It doesn't matter if you live on the CO's back step, if your neighborhood is poor or an unlikely amazing return on investment in 3 years, they aren't going to bother upgrading the 5 1600 pair anacondas serving your area from 1930.
And yet none of those would make more than a dent.
They're allocating/8s, even the addition of several/8s would only extend the time frame by a few to several months, compared to the siginifigant effort required to reclaim them.
Which is what got them elected... (amusingly enough, because the people thought congress wasn't doing anything to fix the economy)

You could at least try to be reasonable.

1 person is hardly a reason to discount significant progress in life saving medicine.

We won't have hundreds of years of coal if we use it as a primary transportation fuel.

And they now see what that kind of thinking gets them, large costs down the road.

Actually, we just see they clearly didn't have the technology. Either way, the bionic woman was much easier to watch on tvland, at least she was hot.

Yeah i honestly have no idea why you were marked flamebait, it was completely unjustified
No, they are quite clear its about freedom of the *users*, not everyone.
You do realize how utterly incompressible that statement is to anyone who doesn't read Slashdot?
You do realize this *is* Slashdot, right? And btw, I think the word you were looking for is incomprehensible, not incompressible.
