    Nope, I was wrong. The OP did use the term "rate" and not just compare numbers. I still, however, stick to my point on demographics. If guns are bad, it shouldn't matter what the demos are.

    Unless you're implying things about the tans of the members of some states vs. others...

    You're right, he misquoted. The rate of gun (and all) crime is much lower. NH has about 1/5 the population of MA and about 1/2 the murder rate.

    I'd also point out that if demographics come into the equation, why are we talking about guns?

    You mean, pushed them out of the Turks' homes. After all, wasn't most of the land owned by absentee landlords in Turkey? If I sell an apartment building I own that you live in, how are you possibly losing land YOU NEVER HAD?

    You don't win wars by dying for your country, you make others die for theirs. Just because you suffer the most casualties doesn't mean you did anything good. After all the US suffered very few casualties in 1991, and it's impossible to deny the Coaltion won. I also question the idea that if the US wasn't sending materiel to GB and the USSR Hitler could have concentrated his efforts more and defeated both GB and the USSR in detail. Then there's the Pacific Theater...

    And the Taliban wasn't formed until like 1996, while the Soviets pulled out in what, 1989?

    Not quite. When you figure out where people actually live, I believe Canada is more densly populated. Don't most of y'all live within 200 miles of the US border? Also, in most jurisdictions, it's illegal for the gov't to compete with private enterprise, as its usually the same gov't who regulates said enterprise.

    You can bitch and moan all you want, but the proper term for a citizen of the USA is an American, like a citizen of Mexico is a Mexican and a citizen of Soviet Canuckistan is a Candian.
