Oh, I agree with you. My point was that there are some bad guys there who deserve a trial (as does everyone) but I don't consider what they practice to be Islam.
Heck, I went to a Catholic HS and our history teachers always told us that back in the Middle Ages, it was usually better to live in the Middle East than Europe (if you were a guy, anyway).
I knew this was gonna be the response. I agree with it totally:-)

Actually, public corporations are required, by law, to make as much money for their shareholders as possible. It's called fiduciary duty. So they really do need to make money.
Sorry, I was referring to Lincoln and FDR gutting the Constitution, not treaties and all that fun stuff. I should have been more clear. Moving on...
You seem to imply that the "leaders" of a country are what give it sovereignty. Isn't a government, by definition, what gives a country its sovereignty? Or am I missing what you're saying?
I didn't say Hitler surrendered Germany. I said Germany surrendered. Who has their country surrender is irrelevant.
As to who was gonna get nuked, take it up with FDR. He finished what Lincoln started. And I'd say the internment camps were a clear indication he didn't like Japanese people much. Why he is so revered, I have no idea.
Technically, Christians can't murder. Because if you murder someone, you're not following Christ. If you're not following the teachings of Christ, I don't think you can be a Christian. I'm pretty sure Islam prohibits murder as well.
The same President that said, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" was the same guy who had A-bombs built. And his party, the Democrats, were the ones who dropped them.
I feel worse for the people on Tokyo who cooked in the fire bombings, but that doesn't quite have the sizzle of being nuked, does it? Of course, why it took two bombs, only the Japanese know.
If Canada is thrifty, they can afford to lower their taxes. Also, when we run a deficit, it DOES mean we're spending too much money. It could also mean we're not taxing ourselves enough, though I suppose that depends on ones frame of reference, and that's a different discussion. Not a big fan of W's cut taxes AND increase spending. Pick one. They're supposed to be mutually exclusive.

What makes you think those guys in Gitmo are followers of Islam?

They're not a first ditch effort.
They're a last ditch effort.
Unless you think people should take up arms if their favorite candidate doesn't win...
Uh, no, right on topic. Long term planning is the key to muni wifi, and the US doesn't do longterm planning anymore.
Just because Europe was bombed to the stone age a few generations back doesn't change that fact.
I thought it was because all the bridges in Europe are about 60 years old or less :-)
Though you're absolutely right, of course, that long term planning has all but disappeared in the US, and for the worse.

>>Your ignorance is staggering. Those people are Buddhist, they won't touch your weapons.
And maybe that's why they're oppressed.
Didn't Germany do just such a thing? Wouldn't the Instant Sunshine sorta speed up the process?
If they Japanese were ready to surrender, why didn't they after Hiroshima? I hear it's not that hard.

Technically, it was a Democratic President that used them, and a Democratic Congress that declared war.
And thankfully, nobody used them since.
Well, we know they used to have WMDs because we have the receipts and a nice picture of Rummy and Saddam shaking hands and smiling from 1986.
But damn, we f'ed up the follow-up, huh?
In all fairness to Iraq and WMDs, we know they *HAD* them because we have the receipts and Rummy's smiling face.
Our followup, however, was very flawed.
I see what you mean. I just look at stuff a little differently. Thanks for the reply.

If they're using it, doesn't that mean it should be included in the budget?
Wouldn't Christ himself think HC is a good idea? So wouldn't His followers have to agree with Him to be Christians?
Isn't a budget surplus also known as "your taxes are too high?"
Wouldn't there be more English speakers in China than the UK?
Shouldn't we ask them?
Or does it depend on who invented it?
That's exactly why NH should leave the union... we'd have ssssooooo much more money :-). Only NJ and CT get less back, strangely enough.
