I live in NH too and I have glimpsed the unremarkable almost face driving by and was prfoundly unimpressed. Why don't they put up a stone face of an old man that REALLY looks like a stone face of an old man, a la Easter Island. People will drive by and say "OMG loko at THAT! is that NATURAL? Amazing! They could even put robotics in it so that the mouth could move and boom out "LIVE FREE OR DIE" to passing motorists, and maybe a winking eye too. now THAT would be worthy of coins and license plates.
This whole thing is insulting to women on so many levels.
1. It imples all technically adept people are men. Why about the women in that class? What will they care about some superficial model?
2. It implies social ineptness in technical people. This is a ridiculious stereotype that has little bases in reality. Intelligent people are no more likely to be socially inept than unintelligent people.
3. It implies that the only women worth knowing are beautiful ones. Yes it's true, get an average roomfull of average people split down the middle male/female, 95% of the guys will all go for the one hot girl no matter what their own "package" is worth. Nobody cares about an intelligent girl unless she is hot. You wonder why women go to so much trouble.. that's why.
4. And why can't a technically adept woman be hot? Oh they can be. But nobody cares, except that she's hot.
At least they give you the peace of mind that they will prevent you from bankruptcy. When you go to claim they do everything possible to avoid honoring your claim.
They are just pure evil.
You aren't going to get the internship without the training and the school connections.
I don't think some doof off the street that skimped on training and connections will have a better resume than somebody with a degree from a good school and some industry experience. It's like any other job that requires skills.
Get a BA in Film at someplace like School Of Visual Arts in NYC. A place like NY is good because can get internships locally to get experience. My nephew did this, and he interned various places, like The Discovery Channel for instance. You also make the contacts you will need to get into the business. As a bonus you might know what you're doing as well when you make you own films or freelance or actually get a job.
I'm surprised not one person has mentioned an educational route.
