I mean come on. Why the hell does anyone who runs a site called Supersite for Windows think that they have to review OSX? I've seen stuff like this before, but usually, they're hoaxes. This is just moronic.
Except for one thing: Look at all of the most recent viruses/worms/trojans. They all exploit these huge gaping security holes that Microsoft builds into their products, like Messenger Service and vb scripting.
There just simply aren't as many exploitable holes in OSX. It's BSD, for God's sake.
Considering that by the time I call in the first place, I'm already incredibly frustrated, This must mean that I will be getting through to a live person within 4ns of every call I make.
It's a great idea, but people will exploit it. It just can't work for long.
I could not make myself like this game. The training was long and tedious, but it was marginally interesting. What I really hated was the lack of single-player missions, so you could at least have some chance of figuring out what you were doing BEFORE going out and getting blown up or sniped in 5 secs. or less.
All FPS online games are pretty much dominated by people who have WAY too much free time, in my opinion. I can't get into any of them, because I never feel like I'm making any progress at all. Personally, I've had the best luck with Unreal Tournament.
You know, the old "wake the parents" model with the really clicky keys. I actually picked up 5 more at a computer show (for $10, total), and have given them to the kids, my parents, etc. There is a wonderful "clicking cacophony" when everyone gets going at the same time.
I had an identical problem with a Geige G3/233 MT. Zapping the PRAM 7 times fixed it. While the machine is off, hold Cmd-Opt-P-R, and press the power button. (It's easier if you get someone to help). You need to do this a few times, and it should take care of it. It's really not the PS, honest. Good Luck!
I Ran Jaguar on a G3 Beige DT 333 with 512MB RAM for a few months, and it ran OK. Just OK. It was stable, and everything worked, but I was not happy at all with the system performance.
When my Beige up and quit on me a month or so ago, I found a G3 Blue & White 400 on eBay for $300.
Considering that I have less RAM now, and there was only a 66MHz speed bump, I should be running slower, or about the same, right? Wrong. The bus architecture in the New World machines is so much better that I would guess at a 75% performance increase. The $300 was very well spent.
Also, the B&W removes the 8GB system partition limit found on the Beige, which was always my biggest complaint.
I have even done this to fix keyboards that have had coffee spilled in them, with reasonable success. Two warnings though: 1) (This should be obvious) Don't use detergent. 2) Do not attempt this with one of the old-school IBM keyboards with the removable key covers, or you'll end up picking keys out of the dishwasher forever.
I think everyone kind of missed the point here. Yes, this is very much like symlinks or mac aliases, and yes, microsoft probably lifted the tech from one of these, but the thing that everyone missed is that microsoft has the most widely-supported OS out there, and if it were to actually get better, wouldn't that be nice for the rest of us? I don't care one bit what operating system I'm using, as long as it's usable. Maybe MS is geting there?
