More of a marketing scam i'm guessing. Seriously, i thought people were over this. It won't be long before we have publicly available EMPs like the Matrix. Damn Sentinels.
At the risk of losing karma and being modded off topic, you forced the image of Homer Simpson doing his helicopter impersonation.
However, this post is NOT about blocking calls, it is about protecting kids from electromagnetic radiation.
I am so tired of everyone freaking the fuck out about Manbearpig. Break out the fucking tin foil helmets and duct tape the god damn windows. Can ANYONE cite a case where someone, ANYONE died because of cell phone radiation (cancer patients/ Pete & Pete-esque metal plate in head people don't count).
dude, i live in cleveland (or i did until a couple years ago, im in parma now) but i work in cleve.... there really isnt much exaggeration aside form the vcr part..... id say the best thing about cleveland is the fact that we aren't detroit.
What the hell, now when people play music too loud, do they have to fucking walk around with their index fingers on their lips. Dont get me wrong, it is a tragedy about the shooting, but this is going a little too far.
Ok in all seriousness, this is fucking retarded. I take this as IBM talking to the public like "Oh hey, look at us society, we may not have fancy cubicles like Google, but we aren't conformists like them because we have shorter meetings." SO let's say for instance, they are about to go bankrupt, and they need to come up with a strategy for conserving revenue and increasing profit... in the middle of John Doe's big important "this is how we save the company" idea, if it hits 41 minutes are they gonna "Sorry dude, outta time, oh well i guess we're fucked" No the fuck they aren't.
The length of meetings has nothing to do with productivity. While yes, the approach to the meeting can effect it, a much more reasonable approach would be having all meetings be open-ended with slightly less structure.
"We're IBM, we're new age and bad ass, meetings are for pussies" WTF
I see your point, but the facts of the case prove that McDs were SUPERHEATING the coffee in question, it wasnt that the coffee was hot, it was that the coffee was lethal to the balls hot.
Ya know..... everyone seems to ignore the fact that this *really* isn't gonna affect the general user/business in ANY WAY... it's just not... Absolutely nothing will change with piracy either. Basically all MS is saying this time around is "something's gonna happen about some stuff in Windows"
Also regarding the "more than a million crashes", I'm sure this is fudged to a great extent, while maybe many of these crashes were on pirated systems, it doesn't mean that the crashes were caused by piracy.
I don't know... this whole article seems so....... meh.
I've had plenty of blue screens with XP, but that was due to me playing around with a "how bad can i fuck this up if i delete this" type of attitude. Ive had a couple BSODs with 7, but that was because of my wireless adapter driver, not a windows issue, a linksys issue.
I've never had a problem at all with Vista's speed, it was the stability and incompatibility with many software packages that made it not really worth the money, seeing that in Win 7 XP mode is available and that it (even the beta) is much more stable than vista, i have to call shenanigans on whoever made the comment.
Man you are going to be really embarrassed in 30years when you read the news that another city is getting reclaimed by the ocean.
yeah... I'm sure 'OMG i cant believe i said that on/. 30 years ago' is going to be the first thing going through parent's mind as cities are swallowed up by the ocean. it definitely won't be 'OMG where the fuck did Florida go?"
I know that if my teenage nephews wanted the most violent gory game on the planet I would have NO problem with buying it for them.
I have a problem with that. They're not your kids. If you feel so strongly about it, perhaps you could persuade your brother/sister on the argument of letting their kids play the games in question. I'm guessing that the parents have a problem with it and that's why the kids are coming to you.
very good point. especially the 'if the parents have a problem' part. the main issue s that aoarently parents cannot read the ESRB disclaimers including but not limited to "Strong sexual content, gore, strong language, alcohol and/or drug references" etc...
So when Mrs. soccer mom picks up GTAIV for her 12 year old kid, and completely decided to not only disregard that the game is fucking called grand theft auto, but that it is rated mature, has many things the parent probably wouldn't like their kid seeing, and is specifically told by the cashier that this game must be bought by 17 or older, she sees those games 'promoting violence' and that automatically makes it rockstar's fault for not making a fucking barney game.
Sorry for the loose structure, I just cant fucking stand people who don't understand that not only are there warnings about content like this, but they DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT.
It is not up to the fucking government to raise our kids (our being metaphorical, i have no kids) It is up to the god damn parents..... fucking do your damn ob already./rant
Wouldn't the Bar Association have strong words with the RIAA lawyers if the lawyers knowingly left out or misrepresented relevant case law?
I'm sure that this is sarcasm to some extent but in the event that it isn't:
What about the fact that these insane suit amounts aren't meant for average or even somewhat wealthy consumers... or consumers at all?
It wasn't until recently that people have started to tell the RIAA to sit down and stfu. These people havent even had ANYTHING to do with those who created the things they are suing over, and now they own internet radio as well?
Seriously... who the fuck are they?
that should be the question people are asking... we are so adamant about keeping things the way they are because change is so scary (NOTE: please do not point out the Obama irony... especially not on inauguration day) that they don't question the policies that mean dick to anything.
The RIAA is relevent to NOTHING, and while you would think that the Bar Association would do something about it, where were they during the Kevin Mitnick bullshit?/rant
Seriously, arrested? I seriously doubt the kid really knew the magnitude of what he was doing. Just call the dad a damn douche and be on with it.
DNA damage? Isn't it time kids evolve anyways? How else is the human race gonna move forward?

Don't act so surprised. I live in Cleveland, and some elementary schools have flippin day cares.... for the STUDENTS!
It seems more like those lead aprons and things they put on you when getting an x-ray. Not a signal blocker, more of a bullet proof vest.

I agree, while i haven't been to Germany, i can vouch that the US legal system is fucked

The idea of shared spectrum, i like it. Basically like Public access tv, but in microwaves and without the creepy guys singing mary had a little lamb.

to be fait, it will still technically be "faster" going by your logic, even 1% is faster.....

i don't think that they have less memory loss, they just forget that they forgot something, and viola! problem solved!
