It's very common with government contracts for the vendor to supply the source code for an audit. If the vendor won't supply the source code they don't get the contract, because other vendors will be happy do this. It even happens with a lot of DoD contracts. I'm sure it happens in other parts of the US Government as well.
I'm one of those people. Now that I can go poke around legally and possibly get paid if I'm lucky enough to find something I will. I'd do it even if there wasn't a cash prize.
I think you're right in most cases of people that are really messed up, but if it's just because they don't know how to handle their emotions it can help.
That's a really good idea. I wouldn't even mind feeding my friends kids if they came over in time for dinner. We're planning on moving back home so we can be closer to our friends and family. Their grandparents would be offended if we had a babysitter and they were available.
I didn't say cheapest, but a cheaper form. Yes, I do those things also and they're fun our favorite games currently are Sorry and Trouble. The kids are still a little young for scrabble or risk, but I'm looking forward to playing it with them in the next couple of years.
" One has to wonder if it's Sparx specifically — or gaming in general — that provides the most benefit, given that most of the symptoms of depression relate to a feeling of being unable to influence one's environment (powerlessness, helplessness, ennui, etc) and games are specifically designed to make one feel powerful but challenged (if they hit the sweet spot)."
The thing a lot of people especially in the age group tested lack are the emotional tools to deal with normal feelings such as anger and depression. One on one counseling helps the patient build those tools and if the game is designed with that in mind then yes it's Sparx not all games. If it were all video games that made a person feel empowered then I really doubt EMO would have ever been "invented".
If you have kids you either spend $25 to $50 for a babysitter, gas at over $4 a gallon, and the price of the meal. If you don't use a babysitter you then pay the same or more for the food your kids will eat. I can't goto a movie for under $70 any more. I'm not complaining about it, because it's just a fact of life. I wanted to have a wife and kids and I knew that it would be costly. I'd rather spend the money on cable tv and internet as our primary forms of entertainment. Sure, it sounds expensive when you hear $200 a month for the cable and internet bill, but in reality it's the cheaper form of entertainment for a family. I also have 2 WoW accounts (currently the only game we play) for my wife and myself. Raiding together or pvping in a bg or arena to us is a lot more fun than going out all the time. It's also a lot cheaper and gives us something we can always do together as a couple.
You aren't kidding. I'd download some stuff from bbses to use personal or to just put on my bbs, but the majority of the stuff I had for download was obtained from friends in person. My favorite part of the day in was recess / lunch where I'd get to swap disks.
Interesting, this might be a new practice then? It's been about a year since I've opened an account. If it's not new maybe it's unique to the few banks I've used.
Are you kidding? Someone of his caliber shouldn't be asked to help rewrite their NDA for them. Red pens are above him sir. What do you think he is a peasant?
When you're buying wholesale bandwidth it's per second and not on total transfer. You can max out the commit 24/7 and pay the same amount as never using it. The only reason dedicated server / VPS companies charge you on transfer is to make extra money. You'll also notice that some will give you a crazy amount of transfer. That's because it normally doesn't cost them anything more if you transfer 1 meg over their line or 1 gig.
For a lot of issues they discuss I agree with you. There isn't a need to have a public discussion for every little thing they need to talk about. However, what they're talking about isn't a little issue. It's a major issue to that small town and deserves serious input from the community. How would you feel if the only elementary school in your town was being shutdown? I'm probably not the only person that finds that to be a little outrageous.
No kidding. I'm non-existent compared to Comcast and I pay next to nothing for bandwidth these days. My best deal is at a $1/meg for transit on a 100meg commit for a back up connection and my highest is $15/meg for one of my main lines. Saying that bandwidth is expensive is laughable in this day and age.
If they ever did that I'd stop buying Apple computers. I buy them because it's a UNIX OS that has native applications I want to run. If they start doing that I'll go back to Linux and dual booting Windows for those applications. I doubt I'm the only person that would stop buying them either.
The only stuff you have access to in either directory is your own stuff. I can't write to anything else even via the command line. I can't access/etc/master.passwd or any other sensitive file unless I use sudo. I might be wrong, but I think OSX more or less uses same security model as Linux.
If you think Slackware is going away anytime soon I have a bridge to sell you.
Assume the PRC has seen the source to any product they use, because they probably have even if the company openly denies it.

No, if we try they'll just give us more wedgies =(
But really, everyones fucked and there's no going back.

At all the banks in the US I've used they make me set the PIN when I get the card.

"go drink some frosty piss" is my personal favorite. It reminds me of cheap beer.

You can point to this and tell him or anyone else this is why Net Neutrality is good and not the antithesis of fair competition in an open market.
have a little fun with it.
w00t I just killed that fucking bug time to commit!
I wonder how many alarms that would ring.
Never stop clapping until the bells ring.

ADM wrote a worm that spread through bind. I recall a few others, but I don't remember their names so I can't google them.
