Looks like you are having a hard time making that true. I now see interesting, underrated and insightful mods. You would like twitter to never be heard, but the issue is bigger than that.

Care to give us M$'s official position on the anti-trust implications of Vista not working with Intel chipsets that free software works well with?

The hilarity here is that you were very probably one of the people who used the argument that those apps were broken as another bullet point

Where's the contradiction? People like you advocate and seem to enjoy broken software. What's funny is how people like you will just roll over when what little you like is taken away. You are forever slavishly slurping whatever Bill dishes out for you.

This isn't your average single user license, it is a giant license.

You misspelled "rip off" above. M$ support is a bad joke that make Red Hat, even Novell look like good deals from reputable companies. There's nothing M$ has to offer that free software competitors don't do better. The sooner you exit, the more you save. The only thing that's cost prohibitive is staying on and putting up with the usual non free inflexibility and complete lack of dependability and security.

People are not going to be installing Windows 7 either. XP is getting all the same backdoors and the usual upgrade sabotage, so it too will be dumped. Is there anyone in the world still happy with the M$ PC Experience?

M$ has pissed away $60 billion dollars in the last few years. If that's a "near disaster" the real thing is going to be them going bankrupt as a result.

Name calling is hardly rational discourse, dedazo. Your view of the FSF as "biased" and "hysterical" speaks for itself but you might have something of value one day if you read my links.

The term "Intellectual Property" is not wrong because Richard Stallman says it is, Richard Stallman is right because he's identified a confusing propaganda term. This "popular" and easy to understand metaphor is deliberately misleading in the ways Stallman points out. It would be very interesting indeed if you could show how that's not so or how the term is useful for conveying anything but confusion.

I'll keep believing studies done by experts about Windows problems, their methodolgy is transparent and their arguments are reasonable. If you install a shiny new copy of XP with SP2, your time to be owned is 4 minutes. It takes much longer than that to download patches to fix the problems that time to own studies find on the network. Even if you had a CD with all of the patches, obtained using another OS, you only have till next patch tuesday before the probes change and get you. These things have not changed over the last ten years and they won't. Spam is a Windows problem.
