    OUTSTANDING!!!!

    GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT GUYS!!!

Unfortunately, these boys committed the cardinal sin. They're BOYS, and they didn't have any females involved.

Go to the flickr site and read the comments. I spotted this one:

    ---------------
    Deutschbag says:
"This is great but next time have some girls on your project."
    ---------------

So a group of boys get together and do what males have always done - discover, invent, experiment, make mistakes, persevere and build the infrastructure of society. Then the Fem-Cops come in and bitch because they weren't invited.

Hey Deutschbag, go get a bunch of females together and launch your own balloon!!

    I agree.

The link is from USA Today -- the "Brain Candy" media outlet. That explains the reason for the question.

    Official short answer: Who cares??

Longer version: Is this ignorance really confined to Americans? How informed is the average European, Asian, etc? And how much knowledge is enough?

Given the vast amount of scientific information that we're bombarded with daily (experts say this, experts say that...), how much do I have to keep stored in my brain cells to be "scientifically informed"?

    This is a NON-issue.

  8. Two sides to that argument on FCC Commissioner Urges, Don't Regulate the Internet · · Score: 1

I think Robert McDowell's only concerned about government regulation in the context of Comcast being punished for it's behavior. There's lots of pretty speeches about free enterprise and laissez-faire capitalism when businesses are screwing over consumers or workers.

On the other hand, if the government were helping Comcast develop new markets, or giving out tax breaks and subsidies; well then, can't have too much government now, can we?

Mr McDowell should look at the housing and banking industry for an example of unregulated free markets.
