Question is going to be how careful are they going to be in demanding prosecuting of individuals? The Recording Industry as a whole must realise that if they screw up on a given case, they themselves will be targetted in law suits by those falsely accused. With the Deep Pocket mentality of many jurys, it could cost them hundreds of millions of dollars.

Ever hear the term, "Hate Crime"? Yes, your thoughts are now subject to criminal prosecution of a felony in many states. Sad, yes, but it's getting worse with the far left in the US wanting to inlcude speach within the bounds of "Hate Crime" statutes/code.

Unless we can get some friends in the next Congress, to take up our cause, look forward to even more erosion of rights. To do so, we need to find those running for US HoR or US Senate that is anti-big government and pro-individualism and give them our "collective" support. Yes, I'm afraid I'm talking about forming a "special interest group" to combat Big Brother/Bill.

What the well known portions of the Linux community could do is donate items that will be or are already collector's items which would be auctioned off. Other possibilities could be GIMP artist banding together to create a art book that would create a source of short to medium term revenue generation. I don't think the Open Source (OS) community needs to look for handouts from EFF. The OS has the capability of generating funds to substain a fight in the courts for our rights. Question is, is there enough leadership and initiative in the OS community to make this happen? If there is, the first thing they need to do is form a Not For Profit Corp to coordinate the fund raising and legal contracts with attorneys.

Now I wonder if Amino Developement (Bill and Co) will release AOS as open source? This may come to be great news for the AROS (Amiga Replacement OS) team that has been on hold be GateWay not wanting to give their blessings. Wonder how this will effect the Phoenix Project?
