Sometimes, I'm overworked. Most times, I just stay busy. I just can't imagine sitting around with nothing to do while on company time. From time to time, I'll just sit on my butt and WASTE an entire half hour, in addition to my 30 minute lunch break. Jag har funderat en del över hämnd de senaste dagarna och kom över en väldigt bra sida som inspirerat mig till denna sju punkters hämndinstruktion på svenska. I've been thinking about some revenge over the last few days and came across a very good side who inspired me to this seven-point revenge instruction in Swedish.

It's your PERCEPTION of what an operating system is. It's the common man's PERCEPTION of what an operating system is. I use Linux almost exclusively. If I show someone the CLI, they aren't the LEAST bit interested. If I show them the X desktop, they are slightly more interested. Show them Gnome or KDE, the interest level goes up. Compiz? Now, bear in mind that even with Windows, you can change out the shell under which you are working. That is, change out the window manager for something more to your liking. Nextstep or some such a thing. Sure, it relies on the Windows OS to run - but it's a completely different WINDOW MANAGER.
The standard Linux OS ships with at least one window manager. It also ships with hundreds of applications that I generally find no use for. In a real OS, you can CHOOSE which, if any, window manager you want to run. The window manager is not the OS.

It worked for my wife, as well. She looked at several Linux installations, and just didn't like them. Ubuntu Intrepid did the trick. We had Intrepid and WinXP dual booting on a shared machine. The kids would boot to Ubuntu, and she found that it was faster and easier to switch users than to reboot. This went on for a few weeks, then I caught her powering the system up after a storm had killed the power. She went straight to Ubuntu. I asked her why, and she admitted that she actually LIKED the way Ubuntu ran better than XP. I didn't press her for a detailed explanation - but XP hasn't been booted on that machine for at least a year. Some day I'll have to move files around, and recover all that space being wasted by the old isntallation of Windows.
If the machine doesn't die first! It's an old Abit board with an AMD 2400+ XP chip. The thing has run almost 24/7 since I bought it all those years ago!
