    How about we put a camera in your living room. You don't have anything to hide so whats the big deal?

    The level of abuse is too great. Whats to stop the person on the other end of the camera from saying "hey I hate that guy, lets say he looks like Rapist X and send over some police."

    If your country has such a bad problem with crime that constant surveillance is needed on the population then you should look at the bigger social problem.

    I value my freedom too much to give in to constant surveillance.

    This just how it begins. Soon it will be like england with cameras on every street corner and highway. After that whats to stop them from being placed in apartments? houses? bathrooms? showers? After all if you are innocent then whats the big problem?

    The sad part is most people feel 'safe' with someone watching them. Its just one step closer to big brother watching you. I would advise people to fight back now and hold up big posters with sayings like "FU" or "GOATSE.CX" to these cameras.

    It all comes down to what price you put on freedom. Ben Franklin said it best:

    "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

    No money is exchanged when you download mp3s or watch pr0n. As for software the last thing I bought was quake in 1996 when it first came out. Applications have real uses, without the everquest game what you bought is meaningless. A piece of software can run on many computers and does a specific job. Buying a charcter or item is just a useless piece of data.

    No way in hell are you going to hold a .50 cal BMG barrel down to a piece of wood with duct tape. Theres not even a chamber for the bullet! After the 300 round magazine I kind of got the joke. If you need that much firepower its time for something belt fed. Although a 300 round clip would be handy when those pesky UN troops invade my compound.

    I'd take a 50 year old broadcast quality turntable and the associated tube amp over any crappy digital source. Digital just means loss, something was lost during the 44.1 or 96khz sampling rate. Then we deal with jitter correction and the quality of the DAC, etc etc.

    According to a recent show on the discovery channel those streetcorner cameras have people who watch for wanted criminals. Whats to stop the person from saying "hey thats the asshole who cut me off this morning, lets say he looks like rapist X and have the police arrest him"

    If your country has that much of a crime problem maybe its time you looked for a deeper underlying social issue. Now let me quote Jim Quinn's liberalism law "Liberalism always generates the opposite of its stated intent"
