And how is the source any safer? Did you read through every single line to make sure? Opensource is no good unless people actually read it and not assume the next guy will.

Recharge time is a killer. Want to drive cross country? That will take you a month. Drive 300 miles, plug in and wait overnight, repeat. Gasoline still has the advantage that you can refuel in minutes and be on your way.
If you had bothered doing some research you would have found add on programs that replace the windows explorer shell with unix look alikes. One is a clone of the afterstep WM.
you quit because your boss likes MS? thats a really great reason. Have you considered that MS might be the right tool for the job? When considering a solution I look at what will work best, not at who makes the product.
If someone made a consumer device just to play mp3s you could bet it would not run a multi user unix os. All you need is some eproms and the dsp decoder chip and some media to read from.
I'm sick of people spouting off all these stupid open protocols that never even leave the ground. Who uses bluetooth? No one. Who uses ogg vorbis? maybe 100 opensource geeks who are scared frauenhoffer might sue them. Ever hear of VQF? its been out for years and rivals mp3 in every way but no one uses it either.
Anyhow I'm just sick of all this junk that never leaves the drawing board. Netwinder anyone? $2500 for a small server with an IDE hard drive.
Ever hear of VQF? Go to www.vqf.com and check it out. The files are 50% smaller than mp3 and sound MUCH better. VQF has been out for years but I have yet to see a single file using it. For listening to my own cds its great.

A similar violation to the first ammendment is standing on a corner and shouting out peoples names and their associated credit card numbers. When someone makes them stop is that a violation of freedom of speech? I would just like to know where you draw the line. After all, information wants to be free.
How the hell are they supposed to get power? Is the coke can going to have a battery built in? If it did how much power do you think it could radiate? Cell phones put out a few watts of RF, so far research hasn't proved anything definite as to how tissue is effected.
What makes this different than a serial number stamped on something? A simple chip with a number burned in. Thats all.
The problem is at +2. All you will get is the 'correct' comments that agree with everything/. is for. Go lower and you will see the modded down unpopular opinions. You're only getting what you want to hear, not the whole picture.

The US spent $2 million designing a pen that will write in space, the russains used a pencil.
They can give away their music for free and continue working at burger king! Or better yet put songs on mp3.com with all the other crap.
