What percentage of the desktop market does linux take up compared with windows? 1 or 2, maybe even as high as 4. The cost is not justified just for a small fraction of your customers.
I did a standard "gnome" install of redhat 6.2 the other day and it took up over 400meg! And you talk about win2k and bloat. Whats the deal with linux and kernels over 1 meg? I mean come on will someone fix that?
How dare they protect their own product thats still in development from the public! How dare a company attempt to make money, what the fuck is wrong with them. Here all this time I thought they were out to make people happy and spread joy.
Say you're working on a new product to compete with someone, would you mind if I leaked some technical details and pictures?
It has to do with the 16 bit drivers used during the boot up, and don't forget when NT came out in 1996 8 gig was pretty big. Even the new pIII boxes that come with 20 gig drives have NT on a 1 gig boot partition, the rest of the disk is formatted after the install.
There used to be a list floating around usenet that had a ton of emails for government agencies. Like postmaster@fcc.gov president@whitehouse.gov etc etc. About 70% of my spam comes from asia, mostly a unix/NT box someone plugged in and never bothered to change the mail relaying settings. Complaining to someone is impossible. I look up who owns the IP block and forward it to them. A lot of the NT boxes have accounts with the same password and some even have blank administrator passwords. Maybe I should just fix smtp for them;)
Novell is novell and windows is windows, but are you running redhat or slackware? X or plain console? Kernel 1.x or 2.0 or 2.2? Linux changes daily so their "test configuration" would be outdated by the time the product made it to stores.
That when linux is subjected to a heavy load it fumbles and the performance drops. The article is pretty in depth for cnn. I hate people talking how 2.4 will fix everything, 2.2 surely didn't. Thats like saying Windows 2005 will be better you'll see! Wait for the testing before opening your mouth, it hurts credibility.
Took away your guns to make people feel safer. Sure you *feel* safer walking down the street but statistics show that crime is going up, Home invasions are up 44%! What are you going to do when someone breaks in, call 911 and hope they don't kill you with the gun they were supposed to turn in?
I say nothing but pure facts. Such linux bigotry, can you not even admit a linux shortcoming? Without resorting to modding me down? Also check out the netcraft whatis for andover.net.
Can a 13 year old sign a legal document and be held responsible? No. If he is under age his parents or guardian are responsible. Once you hit 18 in the US or 19 in Canada that document will have some merit. Can a minor co-sign your loan? Didn't think so.
They don't want people running a linux box thats insecure. Scan a resnet subnet and see how many linux boxes you find, how many are running the default install with every service loaded? How many are vulnerable to remote root exploits? Once you get in you can feel free to use their bandwidth for DoS attacks or 0wning something else.
Besides most people just use windows file sharing instead of ftp.

Well shit then 99% of the planet must piss you off.

How about some powdered Drain-o? 100% pure lye should be great for sensitive instruments.
Nothing more than something to incite all the mp3/warez fans and generate banner hits to make up for failing stock.

Just what did people do before they had pagers and cell phones? The world didn't grind to a halt.
You can setup a shared session with another client.

That Adaptec RAID card is not supported by linux.

I'm suprised you weren't bitchslapped for speaking the truth.
Well this benchmark done by CNN in january shows the same problem.

Just what I need, a service that filters and dumbs down news for me. How will I know its not biased towards the right or left?
telnet to port 25, I think they are a possible spam relay.
Not very close, most busy sites don't have all static content.

On a side note I think you should all visit this address and see what andover.net is running:

Solaris eh? Whats the front page of andover say?
"Leading the linux destination" great example you're setting there.

Just let moderation do its work.
They all bought the Apex AD-600A region selectable player. That or a hacked software version for the computer.
I'm just wondering why your so mad about not having it in the japanse language? Are you fluent in japanese? Just curious.

When will you realize that SGIs weren't meant for playing quake? Stop using that as a benchmark.
