Unless you need to pop out the BIOS chip or connect up a JTAG programmer then your computer isn't bricked. Even then a quick firmware rewrite and things are fixed. Can you give some figures on this claimed distortion? Start with %THD and then IM.
Then why does the BluRay spec have audio sampling at 192KHz? Why is "CD" quality fine for music but movies need sampled an order of magnitude deeper?
