  1. Indian stomach - wtf? on Apache Maven 1.0 Released · · Score: 1

Hum, this headline caused me some confusion.

In danish 'maven' is the word for stomach.

Well, can't win them all :)

I really agree with you way of thinking, spend money improving you own product, than diss the competition.

The truble is they (MS) might spend there money rather well this way with FUD etc.

The best example I can give right now would be Coca Cola. Do they spend money improving products?
Not that much compared to advertising.

    Should they improve their product?

Well, their product do cause some diet and healht problems. All the suggar is a problem. This of cause is also a moral question. Is it really coca colas problem how people use their product.

The bottom line is, FUD might give the biggers bang for the $ for Microsoft. So why should the do 'the right' thing?

Think Watergate, or other stories that can only get out there because people can be anonymous.

Also another positive thing is when we vote. This would not work if one could be sure exactly what everyone voted for.

The sad thing is ofcause that hiding under a name/company/other often get abused. I guess that is the price we pay sometimes.

Hum, should I check the "Post Anonymously" box?

Nope, they just like to get paid watching porn like the rest of the world.

    Was just thinking the same.

With all the newspeak comming from the President of the US, and the stories now running around the world about what really goes on in a war. One would think evidence was the first think you ask for, when someone say. "Thats not true." "This is how it is."

So the story around the pictures may be fake, lots of pictures are 'fabricated' big deal.

People still read (ha ha) playboy, but know the photos are constructed. The pictures are still pretty though right?

I would say it is between MS and Apple. Real makes no difference. Even if they were to join one of the two.

I think the music format market is still an open battle between MS and Apple.

  15. Re:Poor countries... on UN Recommends WiFi for Poor Countries · · Score: 5, Insightful

In most 'poor' countries the problem in not the amount of food, but the distribution of it.

These so called poor countries often have large money making industries to buy food, or food is being donated to the country. Perhaps a better way to put it is. Food is being donated to the people, but often does not reach the people, but only the rich. (The seem to own all the weapons).

Money made from industries, such as diamonds, oile, timber and others goes in the pockets of the few in power, again the army is a prime candidate.

There are exceptions like North Corea, where stupidity and nature makes up a crule reality.

Look at your own country. (I asume USA). There _is_ food to go around, yet some goes hungry.

Distribution of wealth is the real problem.
