    Exactly right my fiend! I only recently watched a TV series called The Lone Gunmen on DVD. If you cannot get rid of this 'ever'-cookie how in hell are you meant to stop your cookie being compromised?

    Please provide some evidence that your comment hasn't been cribbed from pages on Wikipedia. What's that you say? You can't?

    That is such an outright drug war lie. Drug dealers do not give away free samples unless of course they are giving them away with full injection kits at your local school(this was a meme they attempted to propagate in Australia fortunately we aren't yet as stupid as our Seppo cousins(we aren;t far behind though so number one in stupid won't last - fair warning)).

    Without getting too detailed, shutting down the internet for an entire block is more difficult than you might think.

    You are obviously thinking of technical ways to shut down the Internet. Violent methiods quite often trump high tech methods. Wireless internet? Big fscking stolen truck. DSL/Cable? Big fscking stolen truck.

    You obviously haven't come across the 'OMG it doesn't look right so I am just going to complain till my bosses ears bleed' scenario yet. I assure you it is quite a large phenomena. On top of that most MSCE's couldn't use VIM's advanced 'd$' type keystrokes as it is so much easier and intuitive for them to just press END then backspace 62 times. So what chance do they have if they have to use some complex non gui syntax like adduser or userdel?
    I used VIM in my example as eMacs has been known to make MSCE's heads spontaneously combust. So for someone or other's sake please don't start a Vi vs eMacs war.


    PS: I may have stuck this in the wrong thread but in my defense I am using WinXP at the local library.

    The really funny/sad part of that statement is that a lot of people don't know how true it is. Let's face it if some group got together and made tons of high quality games available for Linux then it would very quickly assume a large market share.

    It seems everytime I visit the 'real world' the stupider everyone seems to be! Please tell me I am not alone in observing this scary phenomenon? If this sort of situation wasn't caused by the bit flipping powers of random solar activity I would have to sack my sysadmin (I have heard some really great excuses in my time from the IT support staff as I guess many have).

    I wonder what the component failure rate would be on 5 machines. I have probably only built around 50 boxes over my life (not all PCs) and component failure rates have been very low. I can imagine if you built 1000 boxes you would have a fair few failures but seriously what sort of percentage would you guesstimate?

    To most people, "peak oil" is the point at which production is at a peak. After this point, a country (or the world) is _producing_ less then they used to.

    I was always under the impression that peak oil was when demand outstripped supply regardless of the amount actually being pulled out of the ground. If they keep shutting down refineries in the US you might get to see it first.
