    Seriously because something makes you sad or angry instead of "providing pleasure" (say a piece of art about the holocaust) it isn't art?

    And what about the people who do enjoy a canvas painted all back, so they not count?

    Or you pay to much, in which case they win.

    Or you pay too little, in which case they hit you with interest and penalties and win again.

    Do you seriously not know the difference between weather and climate.

    Yes I can't predict the temperature in New York City on New Years day 2025 very well today. I can make a pretty safe prediction that the average temperature for January 2025 will be lower than the average temperature in July 2025, however.

    Imagine what it is liked when you forget to take the garbage out, or come home late from the pub.

    I'm sure these guys are *glad* to have an excuse to be away from their wonderful wives.

    There are people alive today who were alive before electronic computers existed.

    There were people alive before we pulled off heavier-than-air flight who were also alive when we walked on the moon.

    A lot can change in a lifetime, especially when the main problem you are pointing out is cost.

    An ad is ad, whether it's "vote for Joe" or "Joe supports child molesters" or "visit China" it's still just an ad.

    Running a campaign ad isn't subverting the political process.

    There's a subtle difference you seem be missing between "spending money on campaigning/advertising" and "electing".

    If Americans are dumb enough to vote against their own interest due to some ads on TV, then does it really matter anyway? They are doomed no matter what, migth as well speed it up.

    Why should the government prevent corporations from spending money on commercials?

    What is the difference between Amnesty International running a commercial trying to tell people that the Chinese government is mean to Chinese people. And PETA running commercial trying to convince people that eating meat is evil. And Coke running a commercial trying to convince people that drinking Coca Cola is wonderful. And Exxon running a commercial trying to convince people that candidate A will see them all unemployed?

    Where many is ~20% of them.

    And why would that be surprising? 64 bit lets you address more memory and they did the tests in a machine with memory that 32 bits could address all of. 64 bit pointers are obviously larger too, so the 32 bit version has effectively more memory and better cache usage.

    Some programs aren't going to take advantage of 64 bit registers and so on, but are going to suffer from worse cache performance.

    Stick 8 or 12 GB of RAM in and things might be different

    No such suggestion was made, "may" is a very different beast than "will".

    Maintaining backwards compatibility has costs and benefits. I'm sure Microsoft could have found other things for their developers to do that making sure SimCity didn't crash on a new windows version and adding specific checks and memory management special cases so it would.

    Apple showed that emulation can work 15 years ago, and "Windows XP mode" in Windows 7 seems to indicate MS finally noticed (though it's not as nice as Apple's old approach).

    liquefied petroleum gas, not liquefied petroleum solid. It's not like LPG is uncommon.

    Of course leaving off the Gas part in the name is pretty uncommon.

    Why?

    There's nothing different between someone sticking bugger numbers into their in-game currency store and the US government mailing "stimulus checks" to people.

    It doesn't effect anything other than the currency involved.

    No more than the ability of the Zimbabwe government to print Zimbabwe dollars, or the Chinese to print yuans, or the US to print US dollars does.

    In other words, none at all, if the game currency is "printed" then the exchange rate will devalue it - just like already happens in every MMO game I've seen.

    the toys we know have been painted with paint with high amounts of lead in it.

    After all, if I took those away from them I'd just be giving myself a false sense of security since it's likely there are some other toys with lead in them that I don't know about.

    Same reason I smoke, sure I know smoking causes cancer but not doing it would just give me a false sense of security given there are numerous other things that also cause cancer.

    You and the Costa Rican government aparently.

    They agreed to enact some IP laws and in exchange the US would let them export sugar to the US. They aren't keeping up their end of the deal, so the US doesn't have to keep up its end.

    Yes calling the thing a "free trade agreement" is pure doublespeak, since it's the exact opposite of free trade. But everyone knew that going into it - it's not like the US hasn't made "free trade" agreements like this all over the world or anything.
