I think you are forgetting a very important point:
Final Fantasy X is announced to support it. And both of them are released on the same day in Japan.
This alone is enough to ensure the thing being sold out within minutes of its arrival at shops over there for at least a few months (Square is such a system-seller/killer in Japan it's disguting...).
Could anybody please moderate up the parent post and/or some of the few other on-topic insightful/interesting comments instead of just rewarding jokes?
Seacats have also been used for crossing the Channel between France and the UK, and they are certainly awesome.
When I was younger, I used to come back home on week-ends arriving at the train station next to the French hoverport, and the combination of (admittedly rare) fine weather, the view on the English coasts, and the almighty seacats and hovercrafts in action was indeed breathtaking.
Have you heard about the recent treaty of Nice (the European Union treaty that was actually very close never to be)?
One of the main requirements from the French government was that they could continue to enforce the so-called French "cultural exception". What this means is that export/import restrictions on a product can be enforced whenever it is a "cultural" object. As far as I know (which happens to be: too much; yes I am a proud Frenchman...), this applies to DVDs and all audio and video recordings, video games, etc....
So: out of luck! Some kind of revolution might indeed be needed soon...
BTW, Marie-Antoinette said something like: "if the people do not have bread, let them eat cake". And that is precisely what I decided to do a couple a years ago. Abroad (although I must say that cake does not taste very good outside of France, unfortunately...)
I am not living in the US, so I have not been able to watch the mini-series, but I had a chance to have a look at the trailers on TV and it certainly looked quite yummy.
What I'd really want to know is whether the mini-series made the same huge mistake as in the movie. No, not the sound weapon thingies, I am talking about the major spoiler about the secret of the Guild being revealed within the first few minutes of the movie... The whole point of creating a Kwisatz Haderach is about being able to peek through a cluster of male thoughts hidden to the Bene Gesserit, which happen to be those of the Guild and contain their secret. This is the real key to understanding why domination of Arrakis is domination of the empire. The end of the first volume of Dune is the end of the Guild as a major power, much more than the end of the Corrino dynasty...
I was extremely unhappy when I saw this ugly squid-like monster in its cloud of spice 5 minutes or so into the movie...
So tell me... did they choose to spoil the story the very same way?

A 'night news program'?
Well, well, let's see what's the subject tonight... (switching on TV@tokyo.jp):
"AV(*) Male Actor Shiratama Dango(**) makes his debut on the US Pr0n Scene"
So much for a news program, what do you think?
(*) Adult Video
(**) I am not too good at reading Japanese names so this part of transcription might be wrong - but the rest is accurate
Just read your resume....
Are you the inspiration for Bukaroo Banzai or it is the other way around???

> Degle or Gooja?
Good ideas indeed!!
Especially if you happen to know French, as they respectively sound like "Throw up!" (Degueule!) and "Boor" (goujat).
Same here on the other side of the planet.
