Is there a market for this? YES. But it would be quite a bit larger if the price wasn't so high. $600 is an awful lot to pay for the luxury of playing MP3's in your car...
Actually, I think it was a combination of many things.
They got lots o' negative publicity over this. Because of this, there wasn't nearly as many online sites that chose to use the technology (I can only think of Intel's Web Outfitters). Then they were faced with the question of what good is a technology that nobody adopts or uses?
Basically, I think they had an idea (not a great one but it made a little sense) and they completely marketed it wrong. When it blew up in their face, I think they finally decided that it wasn't worth it and dropped it.
This is pretty interesting, but who has the time for this. I don't make a hell of a lot of money, but the price difference in the two types of memory isn't worth the amount of time it would take me to do this. I'd rather just go out and buy the RDRAM in the first place.
I know I'll be flamed for this, but until I can go out and buy one, why is everyone getting so excited? I'm sure that eventually they are going to come out with it, but as far as I'm concerned, it's still vaporware until they can show me a store selling them...
God, I love the new, corporate mentality in America. I don't think many people really realizes that they are in the position that they are in because of others. Dr. Dre is a multi-millionaire because of the very fans that he is suing!
I'm not a huge fan of Limp Bizkit, but they're supporting Napster (well, Napster is sponsering their summer tour). What a concept, putting your fans before the possibility of profit.
If Trollmastah would contact me (through my website), I'd be happy to put up a "TMH Shrine" on our LUG's page (http://www.dialug.org). I think he's been one of the brightest spots on/.
But ten years ago, you didn't know if they would ever get it working.
IIRC, Hubble was lanched and in space before they realized that there was a manufacturing error in its main mirror. They had to send up a rescue mission to replace it in 1993.
Actually, you can enlist at 17 with a parents permission (one of my friends did this). But I'm glad someone finally saw the point in what I was saying. I hate people that judge maturity by your age.
I started college when I was 15 years old and graduated with a 2-year degree in engineering when I was 16. I got so pissed off when some companies wouldn't even interview me because of my age. The company I work for now hired me and then pulled their offer back when they found out about my age (I had told them I was 17 at the time but no one really thought anything of it until after they made me an offer - I had to threaten an age discrimination lawsuit just to keep the job).
What type of interactivity do you have with the computer industry?
A large part of going to college and getting your degree is the networking you get to do with your industry. For instance, a lot of universities have guest speakers (/ job recruiters) come in to speak to their seniors about what skills they need to join the industry. Many of my friends have gone on to work for these very companies because of this. Will there be anything like this in your program or is it just a purely educational experience?
This also made it into one of the "Quickies" later that day and CmdrTaco caught a bunch of flak for posting the same thing twice...

Hey, anything is better than the limit of 33.6 kbps on a 56k modem.

Read the interview. There is a picture right between where the book info stops and the reviews begin.

That would be a blast. Your Sims start getting sick because the neighbor is operating a meth lab.
Sorry, it's sick, I know. I just think it's funny.

No, I was being totally sarcastic. I don't think the idea ever caught on outside of Intel's own website...

Dammit, I was enjoying all those benefits that you got by using the Processor ID while online :)

Yeah, VB will do that to anyone. :) Sorrry :)
I guess you could say this is the first "powerful" application ever developed in VB? (I know, I know. Thank God there isn't a Score: -1 Bad Pun).
